This 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV will live for just one year.

The Rogue finally has a hybrid. And I’m not talking about the e- power hybrid coming out late 2026. This is a rebadged Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid that will be arriving early 2026 for Nissan. Now, this is not the updated plug-in hybrid Outlander that is available next year. This is still using older Outlander plug-in hybrid technology. And while that might seem like a con, it’s a good thing for Nissan. Nissan needs to have some uh electrification in the form of hybrids within their lineup. And what essentially they’re doing is taking Mitsubishi’s best vehicle, at least for ones that we get in the United States. They’re taking Mitsubishi’s best vehicle, making it look better, and throwing it in the Nissan lineup. So, today I’m going to show you the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid, kindly borrowed from Mitsubishi. And is it any good? Well, let’s find out. Under the hood of the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid, it does not have a shock to keep the hood up. So, we’ll just do the old, you know, put out the vibe, check under the engine sort of thing. It’s not that pretty under here, but Nissan’s fully rebadged the engine bay with a plug-in hybrid engine cover there. This is a dual motor. And I’m sorry for all the beeping going on. I don’t Maybe it’s cuz the the hood’s open, but 2.4 L naturally aspirated engine. That’s kind of like the generator here. And it it does provide the electrical juice when the 20 kWh battery runs out of juice. All right. So, you have dual motor all-wheel drive. It is Mitsubishi super all-wheel drive control, which is fantastic. It provides almost 250 horsepower here and over 230 pound- feet of torque. Now, the updated version of this has a bigger battery, which gives you more mileage. This is rated at 38 mi of electric range. I would assume not in freezing temperatures that I’m here experiencing outside of Nashville. with a 248 horsepower is not as nice as the 300 or so horsepower you get on the updated Outlander plug-in hybrid for other markets. But beggars can’t be choosers. Nissan needs a hybrid in any shape or form. They can get it as soon as possible. And this plug-in hybrid borrowed from Mitsubishi is going to fit the bill at least for now. This comes in just two powertrains SL. This is the Platinum. All right. What does the Platinum get you? Even the SL is going to get you a better looking front end in my opinion than the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid. Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid has these chrome boomerangs that come around. Nissan said, “Uh, you know what? I think we know how to design this car better.” And look what they did. They made a better looking Outlander plug-in hybrid. Go figure. All right. Uh, these are the 20-in wheels borrowed from the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Black Edition with a Nissan center cap there. So, nothing too crazy. The red paint color here is fantastic. It looks a lot a lot like uh Mazda’s Soul Red. That’s so good paint color. I like the black or the dark chrome around the window lines, the excuse me, the darkened roof rails. Uh, and yes, this is a three row vehicle. I did mention in my Pathfinder drive that, you know, Nissan just has two uh three row vehicles. Well, technically they have three three row vehicles because this has an emergency third row and the back end looks awesome. I like how Nissan’s bridged the gap here between the two tail lights with a little Nissan word font. First plug-in hybrid I’ve seen on a Nissan badge. That’s pretty cool. The platinum grade here. Let’s go and lift this up. Really good-look car overall. Let’s see here. Am I pressing the button? It’s not opening for me. And you might hear this wine. This wine turns off when I turn off the heat. When I turn off the climate control, you guys probably hear that. I want the heat running because it is freezing here literally. And it’s just a really loud, annoying wine. Maybe I would experience that in Florida. I don’t know with the air conditioning instead of the heat. Let’s go and lift this up. And we have the third row folded down right now. All right. And if you want to see me use this uh not this, but the Outlander plug-in hybrid uh with the third row assembled with kids in the back, go ahead and check out this video somewhere on the screen. All right, it’s been a couple years, but we did test it out and maximize this vehicle every seat. All right, I like how we have 1500 watts of accessory power. That’s amazing for a plug-in hybrid. I can fold down uh the second row seats, I’m assuming. Yeah, I can fold down the second row seats from back here. Um, and then the third row, well, let’s move this, you know, fancy bag here, which has the charging cables. Um, the third row you assemble like this. Okay, which again, just wait till I get this back home. I’ll do more extensive testing with this vehicle, but like I said, if you want to know how the third row behaves, oh, little Bose sound system logo. So, we do have a subwoofer in the back. But yeah, check out my my video of the Outlander plug-in hybrid. I don’t feel like punishing myself in the third row today for the sake of this video. Wow, the materials back here. This soft touch is fantastic. Look at the quilted. Only available on the platinum that these quilted designs. Sun shades, too. Automatic windows in the back, guys. Look at these seats. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Something you’d see in a luxury car to be honest. And yes, this is made in Japan if you guys are wondering. This has heated outboard seats here. I have climate control, just temperature, just temperature, not fan control, but that’s kind of cool. I like the vents right here. The third row does not have vents, just cup holders. So, it’s really an occasional third row. I would say probably maybe like the grandparents third row, there’s so many better options like the Pathfinder. That’s going to give you a better third row and a V6. Oh my gosh. Anyways, let’s go and open up this panel roof here that’s on this Platinum. I have great headroom, by the way, as you watch this open. Amazing leg room. Oh, it didn’t open all the way. Let’s hit it again. Amazing leg room with these all weather mats. Yeah, bring that light in. We It’s so dark and gloomy here in Tennessee. Um, look at that beautiful front. All right, but it’s not quite as up todate as the Pathfinder I just got out of. So, let’s get to the front and talk about where it might be good and maybe not as good as some of the other options out there. And all-weather floor mats, great materials here, automatic windows all the way around, folding mirrors, memory seats. Uh, does this have the massaging seat? I want to say the um the Outlander has an optional massaging seat and I don’t see that here on the uh Rogue, but that’s okay because the massaging seat on the Pathfind Outlander I don’t remember. It was not good. It was kind of a joke of a massaging seat. So, I rather them just not don’t include it because it doesn’t add to the experience. It’s really really a joke of a massaging seat. Now, I do have a wireless charger up here. It’s not as nice as that magnetic uh Pathfinder Charger. Let’s go ahead and buckle up. You know, the steering wheel doesn’t really look like a Nissan steering wheel cuz it’s kind of not. But really, the thing is is that the Outlander was already on the Rogu’s platform. So, getting in this now that it’s badged as a Rogue, it just feels kind of natural to be honest. It doesn’t feel like uh a fish out of water. Okay, the screen is small, but look, Android Auto works just fine. And look at this volume knob. Boom. Right there. Even better. The Pathfinders was over here. Still good. But this is right here. Boom. Right. I love that. Vents are nice and high. Good way to get to me. The Bose sound system is going to sound great in here, but I got to turn it off, which again, volume knobs right there. Okay. Climate control, all rotary dial and physical buttons. Home run. Well done. Heated steering wheel is hot. Oh, my hands feel so happy on it. Okay, now I have this EV button here, which is surrounded by glossy black. That’s maybe the There’s a little glossy black here, too. But materials around that are nice regardless. Okay, I can put on auto mode, so it’ll act as like a hybrid. All right, it’ll choose when to run in EV mode. All right. There’s EV mode, so force it to run in electric. There’s save, which is going to force the engine to fire on, which I just felt it, but it was very, very mild. Uh, engine turn on. And again, the engine is just a generator here that that I can I think it might be able to clutch in on the highway, but it’s not efficient. All right. And then there’s a charge function, which the engine will run as just a generator to charge up the battery uh continuously. All right. And that would be the least efficient way to drive this. All right. So, right now we’re we’re going to drive in um EV mode. All right. Let’s start things out. It says I have 32 miles of range, but it’s not a full charge. I didn’t talk about charging. Um Oh, it’s starting to roll. I didn’t talk talk about charging. I’ll go and put on the screen like it’s just uh J1772. There’s no DC fast charging on this. It’ll probably charge around 7 kilowatts if I had to guess. I’ll put on the screen. It might be less than that to be honest, but that’s enough for a plugin. You don’t need that crazy of a charging rate for a plug-in hybrid. But the the faster the better honestly, assuming you can charge that fast at home. Super smooth. Feels like an electric car. And it is an electric car right now. I’m driving in full EV mode and it is just really, really smooth and quiet. But I have this weird like, will it disappear? It did disappear. I don’t know if that’s like the um the like the fake engine noise or the fake like a pedestrian warning noise. It sounds like a fan like going it doesn’t sound like a spaceship like a lot of other hybrids do. Oh, and the brake feel here is a bit weird, but I’ll get used to it. It seems to be um not very firm. There is also noticeable engine or motor wine, electric motor wine. So, when I get into the pedal, you hear a high-pitched wine. Um, that is quite Okay, I got to turn this down. This heat is really strong in here. So, let’s just turn this down. We’re actually we’re actually going to need because I’ve been getting kind of car sick in here. Uh, climate control. Let’s put it on my face. Let’s make it cold. Let’s sync it up. Look how easy. I don’t have to fumble through a screen to change those things. Look, I can just push Well, if I’m going slow enough, I can just push the camera button. Okay. And use my 360 camera in here. All right. Like, this is great. This is honestly really, really nice to have all these additional buttons. Um, knobs everywhere. That’s, you know, that’s just perfect. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent interior execution. I’m very very happy here. All right. So, nothing there’s zero there’s nothing frustrating it uh with this car and I know I’m all over the road, but in terms of like interacting with the car, there’s nothing frustrating here. Good visibility, good safety. I mean, I have the Nissan Shield or whatever. I don’t know how much different that is than uh Mitsubishi stuff, but like comfort is good. These seats are amazing. Nissan’s kind of lucky that this is a cloudy day because I can’t I can’t like give you a report on the glossy like the glossy reflective surface here. There’s a road back there u which I’ve done 0 to 60s on and I think I’m gonna do another 0ero to 60 um you know because well you have 250ish horsepower of electric electric power here and so I’m I’m interested to see let’s throw this in a turn steering’s a bit light but it handles well all right surprisingly well and that’s that blue ray or blue J almost took me out steering’s really really light. Um, but yeah, we’ll do 0 to 60 cuz I’m curious um on how how this feels. Now, there’s an Estep, which is the same thing as like E- pedal uh in the Nissan hybrids or Nissan electric cars. It’ll kind of act like one pedal driving, but you still have to use a brake pedal to come to a complete stop. So, I’m just going to leave leave that alone. I don’t need to play with that right now. I do have a head-up display, and it is very bright, very crisp, very clear, beautiful head-up display. It’s a little offset, but I don’t mind it to be honest because well, it’s less offset than looking down here between my steering wheel. All right, so let’s throw this in the turn again. Handling is really, really impressive here. Okay, so um I know this is a little bit uphill here, uh because I went the other way and it was a little bit down about 2% downhill. So, we’re going to torque torque brake. Okay, the engine’s working here even though I’m in EV mode. 0 to 60. Uh, and that part was pretty neutral, flat, meaning not uphill where I did it. 0 to 60 in 8 and 1/2 seconds. This could absolutely benefit from having um you know that extra 50 horsepower and that bigger battery to give you more electric range. All right, 38 miles here. There’s the new Pathfinder looking awesome. All right. Um oh guys, are you Nissan’s photographers out here? I don’t know. I don’t know. Oh, they’re probably doing official media like media coverage and that’s why they weren’t getting pictures of me. I felt left out there. But yeah, 0 to 60 in eight and a half seconds and 0 to 100 kilometers per hour, 9.1, not not impressive when you think about electrification, but uh I was not in sport mode. So EV priority, there’s a power mode here. We’re going to try this again in power mode because well, I don’t know. Is are people really just going to switch into power mode to get the most out of their um plug-in hybrids acceleration? I doubt it. You know, you get a plug-in hybrid largely because you like the idea of efficiency and you like the extra range, which you can probably get 400 miles of total range here, which isn’t that much to be honest. Um, you know, like a basic hybrid can get 600 miles of range, for example, without the plug-in hybrid capabilities. So, we’ll we’ll we’ll do we’ll do 0 to 60 again um in this like power mode or whatever it is. And let me turn this off again. There’s just a ton of electric motor wine. Um a ton. And it is really intrusive like the you can hear the difference between regen. That is crazy. The amount of regen or sorry the the amount of engine wine that you have like really bizarre. That is really weird. Is it worse? And because I’m in Oh, it turned off. weird. So, that really aggressive like regen and motor wine from the electric motor mostly goes away when you put it into normal driving mode. All right. When you’re in this power mode, when I turn the knob all the way to the left, okay, and I turn off the climate control because I didn’t want to hear it. But that’s crazy how loud that is in this power mode. I don’t want to use this. If I were to own this car, I wouldn’t want to use this power mode because it is so annoying. Maybe if you have the radio on, you won’t notice it, but it is very annoying. All right, so we’re now in this power mode. Let’s see if our 060 is going to be any better. I think it’s going to be feels noticeably perkier here. Noticeably perkier. 6.58. Now that’s that’s the the two and a the 2% downhill. So it’s probably closer to like 6.8 seconds 0 to 60 6.8 6.9 which is much faster than the 8 and 1/2 second 0 to 60. But in order to get that sort of acceleration um you have to deal with that really aggressive and annoying whiny electric motor noise coming from the front of the vehicle. It’s coming at me this way. That’s crazy. So, I would never use it. I would just be like I’m okay with being slower so it can have a quieter, less like disrupted experience. Yeah, that’s fine. This is good. I’m happy. I’m happy in normal mode. I still have some engine wine, but it’s not screaming at me and it’s not giving me headaches. So, that’s a win. That’s definitely a win. Now, for what it’s worth, I haven’t reset this computer. Again, I’ve only been in here for a few miles, but it said it’s getting 2.2 miles per kilowatt hour, which is not good. Like, that’s what a Hummer EV gets. Uh, and it’s getting 32 miles per gallon, which is not impressive because a Rogue non-hybrid can get 32 miles per gallon. So, I’m going to reset this. Uh, we’re going to reset all of these things. Um, and I’ll do and I’ll update you guys after my drive with my efficiency. So, keep in mind I’m driving in fully electric right now. Um, because I prioritized it in EV mode. Okay. So, it is what it is there. I have a little energy flow icon going on. So, um I’m going to go ahead and uh tell you what it’s it’s like outside of the electric driving stuff. Ride quality is great here. In fact, the ride quality is fantastic. Now, this is a good road, too, but really, really smooth. And do I have acoustic glass? I do. The Pathfinder also had acoustic glass. The I would say it’s really quiet. Not that much wind noise, nothing coming from the road. It’s just you have that in the background you have that electric motor wine which is just unnecessary. I can’t think of any hybrids that have this sort of intrusive electric motor wine. Um, now if you’re always listening to something, podcasts, radio, you’re not going to hear it at all. I do hear it. I still hear it. I don’t want to get copyright. Sorry. I still heard it at low levels and that’s unfortunate because it’s such a high pitch um that it is very very intrusive. All right. I can’t I know I keep bringing that up, but I can’t escape it. So, I’m constantly reminded by it. You know, that’s the crazy thing. You think getting into a hybrid or an electric vehicle running and fully electric, it’d be a quieter driving experience cuz you don’t have the engine running. Well, going 53 here. It’s beaming right through my head. This electric motor wine and it is more intrusive than a gasoline engine in terms of sound. In terms of decibb, it might not be as loud as a gasoline engine because it is very quiet. But right there’s different sound like not all sounds are pleasant. This electric motor wine is not good. It is not like a pleasant white noise. It is it is a screaming electric motor wine. Okay. So keep that in mind. Drive it. Maybe my ears are sensitive to it. You guys might not have that issue. definitely drive this thing and make sure uh you’re in electric mode to to be able to see, hey, is this is this a good plug-in hybrid for me? Does the engine electric motor wine bother me? If it doesn’t, then proceed from there. It’s just hard for me to get past that. The uh like I said, the heating steering wheel is really nice here. Appreciate that. The heated seats are also good. effortless torque climbing that hill as you would expect driving in a dual motor electric vehicle like this. Throwing it in the turns, the steering’s so light in normal mode, it just throws itself into the turns. It feels very cash kai like um and it’s almost becoming a very common Nissan feature is like their cars just want to dip and dive into the turns with with small inputs. I kind of like it, but I wish the steering was a little bit heavier here uh in normal mode than what it is. But that’s a small complaint. Most people aren’t going to care what the steering feels like. I just want to know, does it handle well? And it does handle really nicely. All right, so this has me jumping on the interstate here. Um, and I’m getting 3.1 miles per kilowatt hour driving between 35 to 50 miles an hour. All right, that’s in fully electric. What we’re going to do now is we’re going to put it into um like save mode, which is going to act more like a normal hybrid. It won’t dip into the battery reserve all that much in theory. All right. And this is going to tell us what kind of fuel economy we’re going to get on the highway. All right. Again, like uh acceleration is is going to be adequate. Handling is impressive. Powering out of the turn is is good. All right. It’s not nearly as satisfying as being in that power mode where it gives you all the available torque and power, but not very droney. The engine, the ir irony is that the engine is way quieter than the electric motor wine as I accelerate at the highway. And like my climate control is even off here. Like that is crazy how loud that is. All right, let’s get to 70 and let’s put it on uh cruise control here. Okay, well, here’s the good news. Well, this car went in front of me and then slowed down. That’s not the good news. And it stinks. Uh that Sierra, I can smell the exhaust quite strongly there. All right. Anyways, um I don’t notice the electric motor whine over 70 m an hour. That would that’s good because on highways it would get you would start losing your mind. Um so it goes away and it is more and here’s the thing it’s more evident at different RPMs as well the electric motor wine. All right. So, I just need more time with the car back home um to see what it’s it’s, you know, it’s that was the new Toyota BZ. That wasn’t the BZ4X. That was a refresh BZ. That was the first time I’ve seen one on the road. They just they just arrived. All right. So, fuel economy. Uh I’ll give you guys a quick hit. Um I’m going to have to reset, right? Because, uh let’s see here. Reset all items. Now, going uphill is not going to be good here, but I’ll give you an update here in a little bit after I drive a while a ways on the freeway. Tell you what my fuel economy is going to be. It’s not going to be good. Um, I’ve tested this thing in the Outlander before and it’s not good on the highway fuel economy. Um, so 3.1 in town is kind of what you’re going to see. Uh, if you’re in electric mode, it will go down a lot on the highway in electric mode in terms of efficiency. Uh, so you you’ll go from 3.1 miles per kilowatt hour probably down to two miles per kilowatt hour on the highway, which is not good. Um, and then uphill I’m getting 18 miles per gallon. But I’m going to driveways. I’ll give a bit of Well, we need to put some more mileage under its belt um in in the save mode where it acts like a normal hybrid to see what my fuel economy is in hybrid mode. All right. And it’s yelling at me to put my hands on the steering wheel. So, let’s uh let’s do that and I’ll see you guys after this break. All right, so my fuel economy outside of EV mode is up to about Oh jeez, that was abrupt. I might not make this. We’re going for it. And I didn’t realize the turn was right there. I’m telling you, it handles really, really well. My drag meter flew across the car. It’s up to 28 miles per gallon, but that’s in pretty gentle driving conditions. I would say on the highway, like going on the freeway, it might be like 20, low 20s. All right, city driving, maybe upper 20s to 30 m per gallon, which is not good. Uh, for a hybrid, so you’re going to have to be plugging this thing in a lot, and it only gets about 38 miles of electric range. Is this vehicle really gonna move the needle for Nissan and having, you know, some sort of hybrid on the market? Well, it’s better than nothing. So, first of all, there’s that. This is Mitsubishi’s best vehicle. So, there’s also that. Like, it’s not a bad car. It’s not a great car, though. All right. And you look at something like the RAV 4 plug-in hybrid. That’s a great car. It has a lot more range, a lot more power. It’s quieter, smoother operating, just easier to live with. It charges faster. Um, it I say it’s more power, it’s way faster, and and in hybrid mode, it is far more efficient. Still gets about 40 m per gallon. So, like this thing is behind on all fronts versus a Toyota plug-in hybrid. Other I would say this would be better off-road. So, is this like one small sliver of area that this would be better as a vehicle is that it has really good dual uh dual motor all-wheel drive control versus Toyota hybrids. But no one’s buying these uh plug-in hybrids for off-roading. They can do it, but come on, let’s be real. This vehicle was, you got to keep in mind, it’s also in development and planned for this vehicle to have the EV tax credit. And when this vehicle launches in January, February 2026, of course, there’s no EV tax credit to take advantage of to bake into a lease. So, that’s not going to help it out. Um, this vehicle already doesn’t sell well for Mitsubishi. Is it going to sell well for Nissan? I think it has the potential to sell better for Nissan than it does for Mitsubishi just because there’s far more Nissan dealers out there. Um, and you know, if if Nissan has a customer in the doors until the e- power hybrid comes out and the customer is like, you know, I’m looking at a hybrid um from Honda, for example. I’m looking at the CRV hybrid and the Rogue doesn’t have a hybrid. They, you know, Nissan salespeople can now be like, “Well, hold the phone. We do have a hybrid. It’s worth looking at.” Um, and it even has an optional, well, it has a third row, which I say is the occasional third row. All right. And it looks cool. I’ll give it that. It looks great on the inside and outside. It’s easy to live with. All right. In that regard with the controls. Um, it’s comfy and it’s pretty, but it’s going to be expensive. I don’t know the pricing yet on this vehicle. Um, and it’s not very efficient. And its biggest issue in my opinion is like I said the electric motor wine. Um which is going to bother people to uh in varying degrees versus me. All right. It’s bad enough for me to not want to consider it. Um like I can hear it right now going 44 miles a gall miles per hour and like the engine is on. Engine’s dead silent. don’t feel any vibrations from it, but I get electric motor wine that is just, you know, zinging my my brain. So, that’s this car’s biggest weakness. Um, you know, it’s other bigness weakness could be potential price. This has to be priced a lot lower than a RAV 4 plug-in hybrid because it doesn’t do anything as good as that car. Doesn’t have as much electric range. It’s not as fast and it’s not as efficient when you run out of electric range. and it doesn’t charge as fast. So like and it’s louder um should I say it’s louder in electric propulsion because the the motor line. So it’s got to be priced a lot lower. The thing is you know it doesn’t cost Mitsubishi and Nissan that much less if at all to produce versus a RAV 4. What is that on the road? Oh, it’s a chicken. It’s a cute chicken. Um I miss my chickens back home. It’s better than not having anything. It’s a stop gap. How long will Nissan even have this on the market? Like, it’s already a half generation behind other Outlander plug-in hybrids hitting the market around the world. How long will this be available? I have no idea. Maybe a couple years because once E- Power comes in a year, less than a year after this is available, put a fork in it. Like the Qashqai e- power that I drove today is a better vehicle than this. It’s has a better powertrain. No, it’s not as fast, but it’s crazy quiet, super smooth, really efficient, and that’s all you can ask for in a hybrid. Okay, so this is kind of just a a a band-aid for Nissan’s current issue of not having any hybrids in America, leveraging their partnership with Mitsubishi. And it is a good vehicle, but you’re going to have to get this for pennies on the dollar compared to a RAV 4 plug-in hybrid in my opinion. It’s just not not very good in today’s market, unfortunately. But hey, kudos to Nissan. It’s a better looking Outlander plug-in hybrid. That has to count for something. And unfortunat Oh, there’s the new Rogue. Uh, sorry, I just called the Rogue the New Leaf. I have Rogue on the brand because I’m driving a Rogue. I would rather have the New Leaf over this. I would rather have Would I take a Kicks over this? And the answer is yes. And I believe that’s crazy. Can’t believe I’m saying that. But I would take this over the Rogue CVT Turbo. Absolutely. So, it’s it’s better than the Rogue. It’s not as good of a value and it’s not as good of an overall car, I would say, as a Kicks. All right, but the Pathfinders on the market, forget about this. Give me the Pathfinder with the V6. But this is here for that niche crowd that might be cross shopping other hybrids uh versus Nissan and their lack of hybrids. So, it is what it is. It’s uh a a pretty plug-in hybrid uh from Mitsubishi badged as a Nissan. And that’s okay. That’s absolutely okay. So, I’m going to end it there. Let me know if you guys agree with my assessment. If you know, I don’t know. I don’t know what else to say. The steering is so quick here. My gosh, the steering is so quick. Like I said, it handles well, but like it’s so light and quick that it’s almost nauseating. And yes, I’m not used to driving in windy turns. All right. Uh compared to Florida, but like the turning on this is aggressive. the slightest turn, it’s just like flies across the road, which is a very Nissan characteristic at this point, but it’s very evident here. It just flies into the turn. Um, all right, I got into there. See you guys in the comments. Yeah, I can’t wait for the e- power to come on the Rogue because it’ll be a much better vehicle than this and it’ll be cheaper than this, too. So yeah, I would say stay put if you’re thinking about a Nissan hybrid, unless you get a crazy deal on one of these things. Thank you guys. I’ll catch you in the comments. Thank you for watching. And uh yeah, man. Put me in Armada, put me in a Pathfinder, put me in a Kicks. They’re all a little bit better than this, if not a lot better. Have a great day, guys. I’ll catch you in the next one. Peace.

In this video I share what it’s like to drive the 2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV. I cover the pros and cons of this limited-run 3-row rebadge of the Mitsubishi Outlander pHEV.

Making its debut today, the new 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-in Hybrid marks the brand’s first plug-in hybrid offering in the U.S. Designed to meet the needs of modern families, it delivers an estimated 38 miles of all-electric range for everyday errands, while its hybrid powertrain provides an EPA-estimated total driving range of up to 420 miles1, combining electric convenience with gasoline-powered confidence.

“The Rogue Plug-in Hybrid is an important step in Nissan’s electrification roadmap. It delivers the convenience of all-electric, zero emission driving for everyday commutes while maintaining the long-range driving benefits of a gasoline engine. This dual capability reflects Nissan’s commitment to meeting customers’ needs to enjoy the upside of having both an EV and a traditional SUV in a single vehicle which will prepare our customers for a more fully electrified future,” said Ponz Pandikuthira, senior vice president and chief product officer, Nissan Americas. “Introducing our first plug-in hybrid in the U.S. reinforces our Re:Nissan business strategy to revitalize the product portfolio and expand market coverage.”

The new 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-in Hybrid will be offered in two well-equipped grades, SL and Platinum, and reaches Nissan dealerships early in 2026.
