2026 Chery Tiggo 9 Plug-in Hybrid Test Drive & Review
Hey guys and welcome back to Thomas Talks. You join me at the Sherry Tele 9 launch here in the UK. Now I’m down in line Kellen which is quite far south for me Kent kind of area and this is the new Sherry Tele 9 which is a plug-in hybrid familyfriendly three row SUV priced from £43,15 I believe at the time of launch. Now the car is about 4.8 8 m in length, 1.5 L petrol, four-cylinder turbo with a battery pack, and you’re getting about 91 miles of electric range, and you’re getting about 650 mi full range combining both. Now, with my car today, I’m getting about 600 mi of petrol and I’m now 91 miles of electric range I have been driving. So, that’s 691 miles total range. Pretty impressive. 428 PS, 580 Nm torque, 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds. It’s quite a rapid vehicle. Third row is quite ideal for young kids. More like jump seats are not that great. The four main seats are heated and ventilated. The front two are got the massage. There’s various massage modes. Middle seats kind of a bit of a perch with 5’11. You can fit big glass roof. They all come in a summit trim which is well speced. And they have what Sherry call a 580° cameras which are 360 plus your 180 reverses. So, even when you’re pulling at a junction like I am at the moment, you do get the cameras popping up. We’ve got flush drawer handles popping in. This one’s finished in a nice green color with the chrome accents. And yeah, it’s quite a large SUV and it does aim to be a good value for money kind of car just purely because they’re throwing in all that tech as this top of the range trim level Summit gives you everything in one price point. So, you’re out with paying for your paint. You’re getting your massage and seats. You’re getting the glass roof. Um, wireless phone charger, blind spot. It’s got 10 airbags, I believe, 19 ADAS system and a 14 speaker Sony audio system. >> And currently, this is their flagship in the UK. It’s got various modes you can control through this little um >> eco mode, >> little button here. You rotate around >> and it jumps to you. I’ve been having it probably during normal and sports mode. Interestingly, more sports mode driving through these get more power from it. Got a cool box in the middle. We’ve got two cup holders in the center. A little bit storage underneath. And then a big glove box here. Door bins not lined with fuzzy stuff, but enough room for an umbrella. And then the back seats. I said they’ve got plenty of room back there for adults. They recline a little bit. Boot space with all the seats in place about 180 L. And then it goes to about 800 with the third row down. Second row down, you’re getting about 2,20 L of space. So, it’s pretty cabinous back there and configurable. But yeah, if you’re looking for a familyfriendly vehicle on a budget and you want a bit of tech, the Sher TO 9 does quite a lot, you know, for its money and what you’re getting, maybe a company car buyer, it’s low benefit in kind, and maybe you want something like Sarrento, but you want more gadgets, you don’t want to pay extra money. That’s kind of the main rival in my head that this car competes with and only comes at the moment as a hybrid here in the UK. Material quality, we’ve got kind of a squidgy vinyl here. Top of the dash is rubberized. Bit of full wood here. Ambient lighting going across. Black gloss plastic in some places, but overall it’s not too bad. Do you know it’s um a little bit scratchy in some places, but again, kind of the price point of the vehicle. I do like the fact we’ve got a little bit of storage underneath. So, you are able to put some items under here. Your USB A and C charger on the passenger side and 12 volt for the driver. And then it’s kind of texturized down here. So, you can put some items down here. It’s got the sun visors there. Pull that across. Doesn’t extend round, but you do have that little bit vanity light. You can put your card or something in there. And it is soft and spongy. But yeah, it’s not too bad up there for sun visor material. got quite a big kind of thing here which I guess is where all your cameras and sensors going to be. It’s quite a large bit of a unit and then your mirror itself has got the kind of transparent plastic around the rearview mirror. Yeah, that is a quick look at the Sherry Tele 9.
