BYD Sealion 6 DM-i walkaround – exclusive preview for Singapore!
Hi guys, it’s James reporting from Genting Highlands in Malaysia. Now, this is a really, really exciting time for BYD because so far they’ve been selling all EVs only in Singapore, but this Cion 6 DMI will be the first plugging hybrid you’ll be offering on our little island. Let’s check it out. As you would expect from the name, the Cine 6 looks somewhat similar to the Cine 7, but it’s a full size SUV as opposed to the coupe like shape of the Cine 7. So you look at the front actually the headlights uh look very very similar to what you see in the C97 but the front also has a very interesting painted lower front bumper and of course the sleds here are for obvious reasons there’s a engine underneath this bonnet as opposed to the EVs that B’s offer. So underneath the bonnet is a 1.5 L naturally aspirated engine B calls the CRN and it’s good for 105 horsepower and 135 Newton meters of torque. Now, that doesn’t seem much, but it’s paired with a single electric motor to the front wheels. You get 215 horsepower and 300 Newton meters of torque. So, that is not too bad. Giving a 0 to 100k power timing of 8.5 seconds. I would say the side profile is defined by this character line right here. It runs all the way from front bonnet to the rear of the car. And it starts with a straight line, but then ends with a little bit of a curve at the back. So, giving it of a organic feeling. Otherwise, it’s pretty much looking like a standard SUV. some little design cues that are a little bit unique to the car is this little black strip right here that runs from the rear spoiler. And what you get here is actually a charging port. So you can charge both AC as well as DC charging. Speaking about the charging, you get 7 kW with AC charging and 18 kW for DC charging. And these are 19in rims and they are shot with GT tires. It’s at the rear where the Cine 6 looks very different from the C9 7 obviously because of it more typical SUV profile. So that gives you actually better headroom for the second row of passengers. And at the back there’s a full length tail light running from left to right and also a little badge BYD6 here and a DMI badge showing that it’s a plug-in hybrid. Otherwise a very pleasant design. Nothing too offensive. Now moving on to the left side of the car. This is where you pump your petrol. So, this is the petrol cap and you have to fuel a minimum of 95 and above. And moving to the boot, there’s an electric tailgate here. And as you can see, the space is very squarish, so super practical. And underneath here, you get a tire repair kit and a little bit more storage space as well. Head on over to oneshift.com, the one-stop info hub for everything new and
