2027 Honda Insight EV Returns as a Crossover and No One Expected This
The 2027 Honda Insight is making a surprising comeback, but it is no longer the hybrid sedan many drivers remember. Honda has completely reinvented the Insight as a fully electric crossover, combining modern styling, new technology, and more than 311 miles of driving range.
This new generation Insight moves the historic nameplate into the electric vehicle era. The crossover design reflects today’s market trends while introducing dramatic lighting signatures with boomerang shaped lamps and full width light bars. Inside, the cabin focuses heavily on technology with a 12.8 inch touchscreen, a 9.4 inch digital instrument cluster, and a premium Bose 12 speaker audio system.
The electric motor delivers 229 pound feet of torque and features a Sport mode designed to improve acceleration and enhance driving engagement. The new Insight also includes features like ventilated seats, ambient lighting, a head up display, and a built in front camera recording system.
Honda plans to launch the 2027 Insight in Japan this spring, with reservations opening on March 19. This new electric crossover represents a major shift for one of Honda’s most well known electrified vehicles and shows how the brand is reshaping its future electric lineup.
