Time is Running out for Electric Vehicles! – At least for good deals.

Okay, forgive the production value of this. I’m not even wearing a microphone. It’s just all through my uh phone. But now is the time to buy a used EV. I made a video a while back talking about why I thought this year would be the year. Well, now with the new law passed here in the United States, any EV incentive that used to exist will stop existing. I think it is in September. So, if you buy between now and then, you can still get $7,500 off a new EV, which I s and I, we don’t buy new cars because of the depreciation. It’s just something we’ve always felt that way. We buy used cars, so that’s the way it is. But if you buy a used car under certain circumstances, you’ll still get a $4,000 incentive. So, like with the uh Bolt we bought recently, a 2022 Bolt because it was under $25,000 and because it was oneowner and because we’re not super rich, we got $4,000 off. So, it was a $20,000 car. We got it for $16,000. So, that’s the first EV we bought where we actually got any kind of a a tax incentive on it and it made a big difference. Now, would we have bought it for 20,000? Yes. But not at that time. We couldn’t really afford a $20,000 car when we bought the Bolt uh 2022 Bolt, but because of the incentive, we were able to buy a great car uh at a time that worked out really good for us. We didn’t have to wait longer, which we would have had to do. So, it’s urgent. If you’re interested, if you’re buying a new car and you want to save $7,500 and you meet the income requirements, now is the time. You got just a few months. Few months. Wait a minute. July, August, like two months. Uh, also if you want to buy a used EV, if it’s under $25,000, if it’s a oneowner car, uh, then you may qualify for a $4,000 instant tax rebate, which means at the time of purchase. So, you literally just pay $4,000 or $7500 less depending on if you buy new or used. If you go to Carvana, and we talk about Carvana a lot cuz we bought uh two cars now as a family from Carvana. Uh, we’re not sponsored. We don’t owe them anything. We don’t work for the company. We don’t know anybody that works for the company. But if you go to Carvvada’s website, it’ll show you whether or not it qualifies for the tax credit, the $4,000 used car credit. And then if the price on there says 20, then that $4,000 is off that 20. It’s not including that. So keep that in mind if you’re shopping. And that’s it. I had to make this video. I figure everybody knows this, but just in case, I didn’t want you to miss an opportunity to save a little bit of money if this is close to the time you’re planning to buy a new or used electric vehicle. So, consider this a public service announcement from your friend Chad and Sarah from Drive the Lightning, the positively charged YouTube channel.
