I’ve Just Bought The ‘Peak’ Tesla Model S!

I’ve just bought a car that does not to 60 in under two half seconds and cost me less than £25,000. Now, that’s not cheap. I’m not saying it is, but value-wise, I think this could be the best value content car I’ve ever bought. Clearly, it’s not this. It’s parked over there. But I just wanted to put that sort of speed into some sort of context, comedy context, and a meaningless statistic. the naught to 60 time again. This is a Lamborghini Huracan STTO. [music] [laughter] A car I very much enjoy driving as you can see here. And something that does not 60 in just under 3 seconds. You’re looking at well over quarter of a million pound on the used market for one of those. This is a Ferrari 296 GTB. And again, had a lot of fun driving it. Very different cars, but ultimately again, it’s just not quick enough. Not to 60, just under 3 seconds once more. So, although it is incomparable to the cars I’ve just shown you, it’s a bit of of joke there. It just shows you the level of performance that this car has. And for how much I paid, again, cheap doesn’t mean value. Pound for pound. It’s one of those where you think that’s a lot of car for the money and it is. There’s a lot more to it than just straight line performance though. I’ve got it for other reasons and not just a content car as well. I think it’s one we’ll probably keep. It can carry a family of five and tons of luggage. It’s got loads of space. It’s a great daily driver. It’s currently in the middle of a cold November doing 300 miles in the real world of range. And it’s got tons of warranty left as well. So again, pound for pound, this I think is an absolute steal. It won’t be for everybody. I certainly don’t need something with somewhere between 6 and 700 brake horsepower, but why not? And here it is. I think it was pretty much a guarantee that this will be a Tesla Model S given the performance specs and what I said about the car in terms of range. Right, so the car itself, let me tell you where I’m coming from. It’s a P100D with Ludicrous Plus mode. There’s the performance. It’s got a roughly 100 kWh battery. And again, I’m getting 300 miles out of it. Actually tested that up and down the motorway. So the range is about 100 more than they’re getting out of the standard range Model 3 we’ve owned for 5 and a half years. It’s a late 2020 December 2020 registered Model S. So it’s one of the very last ones ever brought out in the UK rightand drive. And with it being the P100D Ludicrous Plus, I don’t think there’s ever been a better one than this or there will never be a better one because well they stopped making it again in right and drive in the UK. So, this is something that can’t be bettered in Model S world. It is again snobbish, but I I quite like that specialness of this is peak Model S. Again, for under 25 grand for 100 kWh battery for 300 miles of range for not 16, less than 2 and a half seconds. It’s in fantastic condition. It’s done about 80 odd,000 miles, which means the warranty has still got just over 3 years left or about 64,000 miles. 3 years, 64,000 mi warranty on a used car. That’s a better warranty than most brand new combustion engine cars come with. And that doesn’t just cover the battery. That covers the drivetrain as well. So, the builds, although there will be suspension stuff, there’s going to be bills. I’m not saying there won’t be. The big stuff is covered for at least 3 years. And I’m not worried about it beyond that. The previous Model S I got was a 75D on the channel and that cost 11 a half grand. It done 880 odd,000 miles. It’s done nearly 200 now and the current owner is still enjoying it. Still working fine on its original battery and motors and that was again really cheap for what you got. It was in a bit of a state but we resurrected it. Spent a couple of grand or more on fixing the thing and that made it great value. But this I think is better value. Not everyone will agree, but considering what I do, 25 to 30,000 miles a year. I won’t really use the performance, but it’s always nice to have it there. The range is going to help for those sort of journeys. I can go to the office and back in the middle of winter now and never have to worry about having to charge at the office. Whereas the Model 3 that we’ve had, sometimes I have to charge because, well, it’s not a problem and it doesn’t lose me any time. But that’s 22 p per kilowatt hour. This is 7 P at home. So, I’ve man masked this into telling the misses it’s going to save money. I’ll show you the condition of it and the inside of it when I give it its full detail and health check. I’m going to get everything checked on it. All the suspension, all of the brakes. I want it fully serviced. I’m going to detail the hell out of it. Probably machine polish, probably a ceramic coating because again, we’ll probably be keeping this because it’s a genuine upgrade. The Model S over the Model 3 standard range plus especially, it’s noticeable. the interior. In fact, let me get you inside because quite frankly, I’m soaked. You’re probably already familiar with the Model S and you know, it’s got the Raven updates and everything, the air suspension. That’s really cool. I quite like uh the way it adjusts and it’s really comfortable. I do like a bickel. I know I’m not really bothered about it with a Model 3. You get used to it, but it is quite nice having this in front of you and it just feels like a step up over the uh Model 3 interior that I’m used to. Uh, and it just feels like a a more planted car. Again, I’m not going to show you around it in terms of, you know, driving it out like that. I want to get the whole thing checked out first. Make sure everything’s in working order. And, um, it is it’s in fantastic condition. No complaints there. There’s there’s not a single stone chip on the bonnet and one or two on the bumper. So, everything is really good. Oh, uh, I need some help from you guys, though. It needs a name. Now, the Model 3, which is around there now, is called the Tesla. The previous car to that was a Renault Twizzy called the Twisticle. So, you can see where I’m going here. This is a Model S. We’re probably replacing the Tesla for what? The Teslicle Senior, the Twisticle, the Testicle, I don’t know. Let me know in the comments. Give me Give me a name on the same sort of theme, should we say? What What should we call it? So, like I said before, for me, this is fantastic value. I know 24,750 quid is a lot of money. It’s twice what the previous Model S was, but that was a 2018. This is a late 2020. This is the Ludicrous P100D, of course, with a much bigger battery, better range. It’s the Raven update. Um, it’s in much much better condition in terms of the uh cosmetic condition and mechanically everything seems to be spot on, but I haven’t had it checked yet. The warranty again over 3 years, 60 odd thousand miles left on the battery and the drivetrain, both the motors, I I I can’t fault it. And I’ve seen these go for well have a look at Auto Trader now for a late 2020 70 80 90,000 miles that sort of mileage P100D with Ludicrous Plus. There’s some around the 2567 that have been on sale for like a year or two. So don’t have no idea what they’re playing at, but a lot of them are well into the 30s. So for under 25 grand, I think this is a really really good deal. and the fact it’s one of the very last Model S’s ever made in the UK with again right on drive. I think the depreciation which has been extreme to this point, it’s already happened. This is over 100,000 car that I’ve got for less than 25 grand and it’s not 5 years old yet. And the warranty means I don’t have to worry about it for years either. So, I’m I’m I’m more than happy with this. We’re probably selling the Tesla cool, the Model 3 standard range as I’ve said, but I haven’t made my mind up yet. It’s just this does feel like a more grown-up car, a nicer interior. We’ve got the the extra range, which when we go to Scotland, when we go to my mom and dad’s, I could drive down to my mom and dad’s in in in Clton from North Yorkshire without stopping at all. I probably will because I want to use the supercharger network rather than the expensive stuff in Clton because I can’t charge at my parents. But it’ll probably save us about half an hour just because we’re setting off with that bigger initial range. Uh not a deal breaker by any means, but again it’s small little things in it. Small increases, small details that can make the difference. And before anybody says, “Oh no, you’ve brought you’re supporting Elon Musk.” I’ve done a video about this, so go and watch that. But ultimately, it’s a used Tesla. I’ve given no money to Tesla. I’m not supporting Elon Musk just because I bought a car uh from Tesla. Well, in fact, I haven’t bought it from Tesla. I bought it from a car supermarket. Here’s the proof. Here’s me and Alice going to after three trains going to pick it up. Um and yeah, we had a nice daddy daughter day out and only two of the three trains can you believe were delayed. Is there anything you want to test? Try. We’ll obviously do a range test at some point. Proper one. probably scared the misses a few times on camera. Usual YouTuby stuff. Uh, and it is quick and of course it needs some proper tires on this. There’s a very strange oddity with this car. It’s got two different brands of tires. Now, that’s not unusual. You know, sometimes you’ll get, you know, one’s at the front, one’s at the back, and this has got wider tires at the rear than it has at the front. However, the right hand side has a brand and the left hand side has a different brand of tire, but they’re both different sizes. So, I’ve no idea what’s happened there. So, one of the first things that I’ve already arranged, in fact, I’m getting this within the next week are some decent, in fact, no, some topnotch Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires. They’ll be quieter than what’s on there. There’ll be better grip. I don’t think there’s a better better tire out there for this car. Again, 6700 brake horsepower, quiet EViness. Uh that I think will transform the uh the handling a little bit because it’s not the best handling vehicle in the world. I joked about the not to 60s at the beginning of this video. So, it’s great in a straight line. It’s a bit one trick pony. I’m not going to be blasting around the uh the country roads in this at all. But again, 95% of the mileage I’m doing at the moment. It’s just commuting on a motorway. So, it’s going to be brilliant for that. I’ve got one last thing that I need to ask you, and it’s about this car. So, Tesla people out there, Tesla geniuses, or anybody that’s just done this from the P100D to what I’m about to show you, the 75D, the black one, the high mileer that was in a bit of a state. Well, the wheels, as you can probably tell from here, were in absolute state. They need a complete and total reverb. Now, my plan was originally to give these away, but the person who was going to take them is just ignoring my text messages. So, you know what? I’ve decided to keep them now. And they may come in handy, and this is what I need you guys to to give me some advice on cuz I’m I think I’m right, but I’m not entirely sure. My plan is to get some proper Michelin winter tires or more likely probably crossclimate tires to put onto these wheels. So, these wheels came off a 75D Tesla Model S. The ones on the P100D are uh was it 2653521 at the rear and 245 at the front? So basically, do I just get the tire sizes as if that was a 75D for these kind of winter wheels? So refurb them, maybe after winter, I’m not sure you put some tires on and use them for winter. What size do I need? Does it matter the fact that I’ve got wider tires at the rear and narrow ones at the front? Does Does it change this at all? I don’t know. They’ve got the TPMS sensors. They’re okay. Um, I just don’t want to put something on it and then the SC the car just go nuts in some way or the speedo be out. So, let me know what you think. Uh, if that’s a good idea or not cuz I don’t want to rever them only to then not use them really. Uh, so that’s it. Uh, that’s the new content, but probably EVM mobile. Um, I’m happy. Uh, extra range, extra performance, and all the stuff I’ve just shown you. It’s, uh, it feels nice. It feels solid. Uh, it’s not the best car in the world. I will have more fun in the TT on fun drives, but again, for our usage back, for my pattern going to work and back and all the events, the car launches that are always down south, it’s definitely going to be a step up. So, thank you ever so much for watching. Uh, I hope you have a good Christmas as well because I think this is coming out around Christmas time. Or maybe I’ve hope you’ve had a good Christmas. I haven’t made my mind up yet. Either way, uh, again, thanks for watching the channel. It’s really appreciated because if you didn’t watch this sort of stuff, that wouldn’t exist. Um, these won’t exist. These won’t exist. Um, so yeah, thanks for watching. See you soon.

I’ve bought another content car, but this is probably a keeper! It does 0-60mph in under 2.5 secs and still manages over 300 miles of real range for less than £25k!
