A Goldsmith’s First time in an Electric Car | BYD Test Drive Series

[Music] I love new things. I love machines. I work with a lot of machines. I work with gadgets. I don’t like a lightweight car. I like to feel like, oh, I’m moving something. I would buy this car. Maybe not tomorrow, but sometime soon. On today’s BYD test drive, we meet a goldsmith who’s taken the BYD3 for a spin to see if it fits seamlessly into her busy life as a businesswoman and mother living in Lagos, Nigeria. Hello, I’m Aqu, popularly known as Allesia. I’ll be testroning the BYD at a three with 2, three, four drives. So, what are your first thoughts? I thought maybe when the car came I would see it and it would look like electric. So, I like the fact that I’m looking at it and from the outside you can’t even see that it’s different from your regular um engine. Let’s go around. Okay. Oh, okay. Yeah. Different from the back. Yeah. So, this is So, this is where you charge it, right? Yep. This where you do all that. I can’t wait to see the space in the boot. Can I see the space for the SP? Oh, okay. Okay. I like that space. Are we ready to go? Yeah. I can’t wait to ride it. All right. Let’s do it. Yeah. So, so yeah, this is everything. Yeah. You unlock this. You unlock for reverse. Reverse. Yeah. Okay. Whenever you change it, everything is on the screen here. Okay. You also get to control everything from 360. You have all of that. So, there’s nothing like anybody pops out from from the side. Yeah. And then you can also do one last thing if you press this button. [Music] Okay. So, now we’re leaving Yaba. So, where are we going? We’re going to Lei. So, I have a question. Okay. Um, what’s the battery life? How do I know if it’s well charged? Everything is from this screen right in front of you here. And now we can see that it’s 79%. Okay. And this is and this can take us 326 km. So what’s your typical day today like? Um I have some movement wise. Yeah, I need to get to Leki to my office in Leki. Yeah, have some meetings and um I should be out of the office maybe by afternoon to do school runs and then back home. My workshop is in Yaba here. Okay. while the showroom and office is in Leki. So I think that this seems more your style because if we calculate this on the average 52 kW per charge and um n is 200 kW per each charge. So 200 * 62 I think that’s around 12,000 for Oh really? for a full charge. Oh interesting. Exactly. So what do you typically look look out for in a car? I don’t like a lightweight car. I like to feel like, oh, I’m moving something. Then a good sound system. Although we’re talking, but those are the kind of things I like in a car. What do you think so far? Good. Good. Although the traffic is dully me. Percentage now 76. Yep. And in the whole traffic it was 77. Yeah. Do you think fits into like your normal day-to-day lifestyle? Oh, very much so. So, what’s like the going for this car? Um, like 58. I’m stopping by now just because I need to get fresh lemon for my tea. Do you find cameras helpful? I I use my mirrors. I use cameras. So Mhm. It’s just I don’t know how to explain. I’m just used to it. Yes. Yes. I just look until you mentioning I didn’t even know I was looking at the camera. So yeah, since we’re almost here, your overall thoughts. The fact that I can see my battery life right in front of me is a big deal because I don’t want to feel like, oh, is this battery going to die on me? You know, that kind of thing. Bad as a bad, how much traffic can you get? We’ve been driving for a bit and we haven’t we haven’t even used 10%. Yes. And this is um 7 3% from 79 from coming from Yaba to the island. 6% plus the traffic. 6% plus the traffic. So I feel like Oh, I can travel with this. And we’re here. Yep. 73%. 73. So we kind of use like 6% from Yaba. Hello, I’m Alashi Rome, the creative director of Allesia Jur. I just finished testing the BYD at 3 and it was a lovely drive.
