So a 67hp motorcycle weighing 217.5
kilos costing £13k might not seem like much to write home about but when you
consider this new Honda WN7 is electric, and actually those figures aren t too far
away from some combustion-engined bikes, all of a sudden you start to
understand why they ve made this. Slowly but surely EV motorcycles are approaching
the expectations we ve set for petrol bikes and the fact that the new WN7 comes not from
an unknown startup but from the world s leading bike brand shows that it might be
time to take them a bit more seriously. Sure, you can get much more performance for much
less money by opting for petrol, but the WN7’s key figures, including the power and price, aren’t a
million miles from the likes of Ducati s Scrambler range, which extends nearly as high on the
price scale with a similar power level. As a first attempt, then, Honda’s WN7
might seemingly be named after a postcode, but it already looks like an intriguing
prospect for early-adopters and a potential outsider for consideration by a
