Would a hybrid Evo ruin the legacy or revive it for a new era?
All right, Mitubishi fans, breathe. Nearly 10 years after the evil X rode off into the sunset, we finally finally have a pulse at the Japan mobility show, Kua was I think that’s how you say his name. Mitsubishi’s all-wheel drive wizard, the literal godfather of super all-wheel control, basically admitted that Mitsubishi still dreams about bringing the evil back. But before you start imagining a turbocharged rally demon, if the evil return, it’s getting electrified. Not a full EV, think plug-in hybrid and a gas engine backing it up. I guess basically it’s like an eco-friendly turbocharged type of engine. Like, we haven’t seen a lot of those recently. And honestly, that might actually work. Hybrid torque plus Mitsubishi’s legendary all-wheel drive system means all four wheels can actually do something useful. A real evolution revival needs more than badges in its attitude, in its aggression. So, will Mitsubishi actually do it? No one knows. If the Evo comes back, expect a blend of heritage, hybrid power, and all-wheel drive insanity. And honestly, I think we really need it right now in the car world. So, let me know. Would a hybrid Evo ruin the legacy or revive it for a new era? And could an electrified Evo actually take on the GR Corolla and the Subaru STI? Let me know in the comment section.
