I let him try my 85mph “E-Bike”…

This is my friend Vernon, and every time I get a new bike, I make him ride it. The only one he hasn’t tried yet is my brand new 40 horsepower Sauron Ultra B. But before I put him on this bike, I want to do two modifications to make it extra safe. First, I’m putting on a new seat cover from Grit Shift. These are both prototypes, but I think this one is going to be a little bit grippier and keep Vernon locked into the seat. Second are some brand new foot pegs. The stock foot pegs just aren’t grippy enough, and I don’t want Vernon sliding around on the bike. Even though I got these from AliExpress, somehow I ended up paying $100 for these. I don’t know if they’re worth it, but they do kind of look cool. Without further ado, it’s time for Vernon to try the Ultra B. I have been on a crusade trying to get all of my friends to buy Ultrabees. And knowing Vernon and the types of bikes he likes to ride, I think he’s going to like this. The last time I saw Vernon was a couple weeks ago when I finished my Stark Vard build. And he loves the Stark Vard. He loves the power, but he’s always said it’s just way too big and way too heavy for him. The only problem is if he really likes this, he just put a bunch of money into his E-Ride Pro. He got a ton of new parts. Hopefully, he’ll show them off today. This thing is like halfway between that bike and a Stark bar. So, something tells me by the end of the day, uh, he’s going to be ordering one of these. Hello. You heard me coming. I did. Oh, I like your overalls. Those look good, man. Oh, I love overalls. You don’t have to pull your bridges up. Oh, man. Look at the bike. Well, I mean, it’s just the perfect grandpa bike because it’s so light. Until I put a battery in this thing, it’s just not going to have the power I want. Right. Do you feel a difference with the new motor? It does feel smooth. Ooh, it’s even sounds smooth. Look at these. You got new prickleys? I did. That’s great. Thought I’d try the the fat ones. Those are the cool trendy ones. Hold on. So, you have matching X9000s? Absolutely. I’m curious to hear what you think of the Ultra B today. I can’t wait. I love those things. Everything that I’ve read and everything that I’m hearing bet all day long is the bike. I also have a foot brake for this new suspension. I have a bunch of stuff coming. And check this out. I modified the screen. Ignore that it’s cracked. So now it’s black with orange writing. Ah, how’d you do that? I literally had to saw this thing in two parts and then peel the polarizing layer off of the LCD screen and I took some new polarizing film and I oriented it in a different direction so it flips the colors. That is neat. I think it’s a world’s first. I think it’s a world’s first. I managed to break it during the process, but I think it was worth it. Got to make it yours. Those are the rules. Yeah, that’s Logan’s bike. Where do you want to go riding? Let’s see this area. And it’s pretty cool. Runs along a creek. Sure. Let’s go explore. Easy e- rides, baby. I’m so excited to see his new bike. There he is. He doesn’t look excited to see us. Hey, I thought you riding tomorrow. I thought you said tomorrow. Did I? Well, sorry. We rolled up. I was like, he looks bummed to see us. These tires aren’t even horrible. They’re not horrible, but I got bigger ones on the way. And these ones can go on his bike when he builds an 18. No worries if you don’t have time to ride. Thanks, bro. It’s still broken, dude. Look at this thing. Look how low it is. Oh my gosh. Yeah, it set on. It feels cool. Really? I felt like I was ready to go rip around a flat track. This is the way it set. Oh yeah. Oh, dude. It feels like an Ultra B kind of just with a longer front end. Is this like an e-clutch thing? Yeah. Oh, e- clutch or regen. Dude, the clearance on the motor and foot brake is hilarious. Dude, the spring is like touching your X9000. You did such a good job with this. When people talk about like a fully built bike, this is actually built. These are sweet. You custom built these? Yeah. It’s like a giant Ultra Beat. This is all storage. It’s like an Ultra B. Dude, everything’s an Ultra B. Dude, look at this. If you guys need any bike work at all, hit up Easy E- Rides. Kai is the best. Not sponsored. He’s just the best. Have fun. Pleasure as always. That thing’s so sick. I’m stoked to have Thank you, bro. I’m so excited for you to get them and you to get them and maybe you to get them. I know. Yeah, I might. But you know what? I’ll tell you what. My blue bike, it’s going to be on your ass fast. Okay, Vernon’s leading the way. I don’t really know where we’re going, but apparently we’re stopping for a Baja blast. All right, let’s bump it up. 31 kW. Why not? This bike is so ridiculous, dude. And here. Oh my god. Fern, where are we going? It is wet and slick and I’m on brand new street tires. So, uh, wish me luck, I guess. Wa! Holy crap. Bye. Wo! This is crazy. Look at this. What? Careful, Vern. Oh my gosh. Ooh. Hold on. Can we bring the drift cart here? Imagine drifting this entire thing. There’s like no room on either side. Hope I don’t sound like a broken record, but this is what I love about sonons and rides. you can just go like explore and go on adventures. When I had the Stark Var, I just didn’t feel like I could really do that. Like it was so big and so heavy and so crazy. Bikes like these are just like kind of more fun to ride with your friends in my opinion. Oh, active construction sites. Hello. Hey guys. Isn’t this where we saw that police officer last time? Yeah. He said, “Thank you for following the laws.” You mean like that? Do you think they need help? What are they doing? There’s just enough people gathered around that I’m like, are they in trouble or do you guys need a hand with anything? No, you’re good. We just saw the hood up and we got nervous. No, you’re good. Okay, have a good day. Oh, we made it. Okay. Oh, wait. Don’t we need to I think we need to order here, right? Ask your rewards, please. Hi there. No, thank you. Can we have two uh two medium zero sugar Baja blasts with vanilla creamer in them, please? You want creamer? Yes, please. I came by here. They accidentally gave me one. They accidentally gave you one? What? What do you mean they accidentally gave you one? We got a Baja Blast and we didn’t order it. They just gave it to you. Yeah. So, I took it home and I put I had vanilla cream on it. I put You made your own? That’s so funny. Oh, those look amazing. Yeah, they do. Thank you. Thank you. How’s that going? Good. Good. Thanks. Yeah. So far so good. Cheers. Cheers. [Music] Oh my god, it’s so good. I gotta be honest, this is my second one of the day. So, what do you think? Feels a little more substantial, huh? Yeah. Turn it on like that. You just have to hit this ready button. So, you’re in drive right now. That’s about 17 1/2 kilowatt. You can kind of feel how that feels. And then if you push this up, you’ll go to sport. Really, really tight. Just like I’ll I’ll give it a shot. Let’s see here. Oh man, this thing is such a little like scary little beast. Okay, you lead the way. Oh my gosh. What do you think? Really? This is ridiculous. Yeah, right. It’s so comfortable. I can feel every bump on that. Yeah, this thing is a little more raw. A little This feels so different than the Ultra V. I feel like I’m over the front wheel. I don’t want to mess up your new bike. You can mess it up. Whatever. It’s a mic. Yeah, it’s so touchy. Oh my god, that poor little boo boo. That guy’s just hanging back there. What’s he doing? Is that in sport? I can’t hear anything he’s saying. He’s just like, “Wait, wait.” Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, the lighter bikes are easier to learn that on cuz you don’t have to get up as high for the balance point. This bike you have to be pretty vertical. Oh, we’re going down there. There’s like a billion signs. This thing is incredible. You like it? Yeah. I put it back down in the street. You say it’s crazy. Oh, in the 30 kW. That is pretty nuts. Way better than the Stark. Isn’t that so weird? You would think the Stark would be like the ultimate refined smooth experience and this is even better. I almost need one of these just because my body wants Yeah, that sport mode in 31 kW is so fast. I got from downtown to where I live in 9 minutes. I’m not going to say I broke any laws, of course, or anything like that. That would be Wow, this is awesome. Wait, hold on. I’ve never been down here before. Hi there. Never mind. Wa! Skate spot alert. Wall ride. Vern, this is awesome. I didn’t know this even existed. Maybe you’re not ready to say, but are you convinced yet? Yeah. Would you just be quiet? That’s all right. I’m not trying to ruin it. I still want to give it back. Yeah, that’s okay. Keep riding. Do you think we can go out there? Yeah. Would people get mad at us? I don’t see anything. Says no bikes. All right. [Music] [Applause] Sorry, guys. Thanks. Please do not cast throw. Okay. Okay. The only sign I’ve seen says we can’t throw traps into the water. I have no intention. I don’t. Me neither. Oh man, it’s cold. Holy. This bike is too nice. Switch back. You want to switch back? Okay. This thing is so nice. I mean, this song is too nice. You think so? Yeah. It makes me want to get one so bad. I’m sorry to uh potentially make you spend more money. Gosh, really? This isn’t even right. Oh man, this is fun anymore. I’m sorry, Vernon. Oh, sure. We’ll get out of your way here. He He wasn’t in the mood. All right. Should we take off? Yeah, let’s do it. Let’s do it. Okay. I do kind of feel bad. Like every time Blake gets a new cool thing or I get a new cool thing, we’re like, “Oh, Vernon, try it out. Try it out.” And then he’s just like, “I need to buy one.” Thank you again. Appreciate it. That That one’s putting out twice as many kilowatts. This one probably goes about 85, something like that. Are you into bikes and things like that? I was thinking of buying just one of those with no fumes or anything. Nope. No fumes. You just charge it up and go. Not much maintenance either, which is nice. Thank you. Yeah. Have a great day. It’s so funny how many people who I would never expect to be into bikes or anything like that always have questions. It’s like this universally interesting thing. You know, people assume that old people aren’t interested in stuff like that. Old people are just big kids. These leaves are probably going to be like banana pills. Yeah, I know. We got to be Oh my gosh. Hey. Whoa, Vernon. This thing is What is this place? Oh my gosh. Feel like we’re in Hunger Games or something. There. Holy crap. Burning. Did you see the mustache on that guy? Oh my gosh. It was about that thick. About 6 in deep. Okay. On our right, we have a wastewater treatment plant. I’ll I’ll tell you, it does smell like that. Oh god. Nice and slow. Nice and slow. Oh, good idea. Good idea. Clean off the tires. Okay. It didn’t really work. Man, it’s always a good day riding with Vernon. Uh-oh, a tunnel. Time for 31 kW. Oh my gosh, dude. Oh my word. You’re right on my tail. I keep thinking you’re way behind me, but you’re That bike is quick. Oh, I know where we are. Nice. Oh my gosh. Kind of fun that we’re both just kind of neither one of us has a regular job and then we can just drop in and annoy him whenever we want. It looks like you guys had fun. Oh my gosh, it was so fun. I’m still at 99%. 89. Did you ride it? Yeah, I made these. I kept asking him like, “How do you are you convinced or whatever?” And eventually he was like, “Man, just shut up.” Wait, so this is your wife’s bike? Ah, I had a 2.0 and then I sold it to you. Even though she wanted it. Truthfully, I had no idea. She was telling me that she was telling you she was telling me that you should have seen the look on her face. Dude, I’m so excited to ride with her. It’s going to be sick. So, we’re going to go out and we’ll both have new bikes. I can’t believe this is a 2.0. It changed so much since I got mine. There’s a sprocket widening kit on it. See how the sprockets face wider? Yeah. So, you wider tires stock, different seat cover, better forks than they used to. No more turbo button. You’re in 12 kW mode permanently. And then you have reverse. This is sick, dude. E-ide Pro is crushing it. I was like, Vernon, we need to take a thumbnail for the video. He immediately puts it in sport. Nice, man. He looks like a natural on that thing. It’ll probably I’m going to go ahead and blast out. This bike is going to be so much more easier on the bike, dude. Thanks for uh hanging out. All right, I just got a notification that some very exciting parts arrived at the house. Something I kind of wish I had had before Vernon test rode this thing. All right, truck still here. That’s good. This truck has been stolen so many times. Honestly, sometimes I just kind of Whoops. Sometimes I just kind of expect to come back and uh not see it here, folks. A lot more boxes arrived than I realized. I thought it was just one thing. It’s a lot of things. I’m going to start with the thing I am most excited for. As the weather is getting so bad outside, it just gives me more time to work on the bike, which is kind of fun. We’re going to save all of these mystery goodies for the next video. But I can’t wait a second longer to install the factory Z foot brake. Just so you know, I paid full price for all of this. We have the foot brake assembly and peg mount. Brake line zip ties. Master cylinder. Rear dual caliper bracket with a rotor guard, which I will be removing. I don’t like these things. Sorry. OEM suron rear caliper. I’ve never seen one of these things brand new. And last but not least, a CNC peg mount bracket to replace the stock cast one. Honestly, I wasn’t really expecting them to include this, so that’s kind of nice. We also have all of this stuff. Uh, you’ll have to guess what that is. New tires. This is just the rear one, which by the way, uh, no shot that’s going to fit. There’s also a ton of other crazy stuff coming in the mail, so subscribe if you want to see that. Also, yes, this is a nose strip. I didn’t break my nose. I have this on because I get sinus headaches. So, this turned out to be one of the easiest foot brake kits I have ever installed. And I want to install this because I really want to get good at foot brake tricks on the Ultra B. When you put a foot brake on a smaller, lighter bike, it’s a lot twitchier and a lot easier to fall. I’m greasing up all of the pins and moving parts in this kit just so everything moves super smoothly for the rest of time. And installing this kit is basically just removing your old peg mount bracket and installing the foot. It did get a little bit tricky towards the back of the bike because these are moto style calipers. So, there’s a pin on the mount side and a pin in the caliper itself, which makes things kind of weird, but it’s pretty easy to figure out. I’m removing this uggo spring that always comes surrounding brake lines. Then I’m bolting it to the rear caliper and running it actually inside the battery compartment. I think this is just a cleaner and safer way to run it. I just had to make sure it wasn’t getting pinched by the battery. Now it was time for my least favorite thing ever, which is changing tires. I literally spent 2 hours on this. Golly. And then I tried to squeeze a 140 tire onto a 2-in wide rim. This was so dumb. And believe it or not, disaster struck. No, dude.

This week I let Vernon ride my 31 kilowatt Surron Ultra Bee! Even though he’s building his E-Ride Pro, I think we might have convinced him to get an ultra bee…
