Yamaha Aerox-E and EC-06 EV scooters unveiled | walkaround | first look | carandbike

Well, Yamama has launched the XSR 150 today, but along with that, the brand has foray into the EV space as well. On my right is the Aerox E. Now, this is the EV derivative of the petrol powered Aerox that we all know of. And as you can see in the flesh, it looks very similar to the petrol powered Aerox, but you get a different livery. You get this pearl finish and you also get these blue accents and the name badging has got the E suffix to it. So which is notifying that it is an electric and not a petrol powered scooter. Moving further the cockpit is a very similar uh thing that you are getting on the AOC but you get three ride modes. You get eco, standard and power and along with that you also get a boost mode that is offered. Uh in terms of the powertrain for the scooter you get a 9.4 4 kW permanent magnet motor and that has a torque output of 48 mm. And as far as the battery is concerned, you get a dual battery setup over here which is displayed. Right now the seat is locked so I can’t show you that. But these two batteries are the ones that go in the scooter. You get a 1.5 kWh battery pack. There are two of these. So you get a total battery power bank of 3 kW. So this is the home charger that you can remove the batteries from the scooter and you can take them home and charge them at the same time. You also get a charging port that is located here underneath. So you can charge the scooter with the batteries in it as well. So you got two charging options for that. And uh coming to the other aspects about the scooter, you have got telescopic forks at the front and then you have also get dual shock absorbers. A very similar setup as you see on the standard Aerox, but instead of the electric, instead of the engine that you get on the Aerox, you get a motor over here like I said. So, it’s a permanent magnet motor that’s mounted on the swing arm and it is delivering the power to the rear wheel. Apart from that, the other aspects about the cycle parts, the wheel size, the tires and everything more or less are same to the AO. As far as the pricing concerned, Yama hasn’t announced the prices for the Aerox, but we expecting it to somewhere be in the ballpark of 2K 50,000 to 2A 70,000, which is significantly higher compared to the petrol powered variant. So, that being said, that’s about the Aerox E. So, moving to the next scooter that Yama has unveiled is the C06. Now, this one is, you know, the base of this scooter is based on the River Indie. You must have heard of this scooter. It has been launched a while back. So as you can see you get a a differently you know designed approach with this one while share the skeleton of the river India you have got a LED lamp a rectangular one the lamps are again all LED the wheels you get on the scooter are 14-in wheels you get disc brakes at both ends you get a telescopic fork at the front and uh coming to the cockpit of the scooter it’s quite comfortable there’s a lot of space for the floorboard and uh this setup is kind of similar to the riverindi but over here you get a much more know tilted uh display. I don’t have the keys to show you how the display is but it’s a fully digital display that you get and apart from that you get different ride modes that you can you change with the toggle switch. You get a park assist for forward and reverse parking. So and then these are the other switch gear. It seems to be decent in terms of the uh quality. The seat also has been nicely contoured. I feel there should be enough space for the rider and pillion to sit. Uh the storage space here is uh not as much as the river Indie, but you get 24.5 L of storage space which would easily accommodate your uh knickknacks and your laptop bag or your halfpace helmet. I don’t think a fullface helmet would fit a proper full face helmet. But then we’ll have to check about that later on when we get the scooter. Uh at the rear you get twin shock absorbers like I said a disc brake at the back 14-in wheels again. So that’s the setup for as far as the powertrain is concerned. This one gets a 6.7 kilo uh kilowatt motor output. It’s a permanent magnet motor. And uh in terms of the battery pack, you get a fixed battery pack over here. So that’s a kilo 4 kilowatt hour battery pack that you get on this and it can be charged with this charger that you get with the scooter. So you have to plug it in over here. There’s a port over here. You plug it in and you can charge the battery pack with this. So this is the C06. In terms of pricing, we don’t have them yet, but we are uh thinking that you know it should be somewhere in the ballpark of uh 1.5 lakh to 1.7 lakh. So which is a bit of an increment over the river Indie that is already sold in the market. So this is the C06 and this is the Aeros E. Do let us know in the comments which one is that you are more keen on having being launched by Yama soon in the market. So in terms of launch duration, we are looking somewhere in the first quarter to the mid 2026 is when we can expect these scooters to be launched in India. So that’s all on these new unve.
