This FAST E-Bike Is Criminally UNDERRATED! | MEELOD XT600DL Review
Let’s give it a go from a dig in dual motor mode. And this thing is cooking. 37. This right here is not your average bike. This bike looks like somebody took a mountain bike and a dirt bike, mixed them together, and then gave you this. The Mod XT600DL. Now, the XT600DL is not only a mouthful to say, but it has a few tricks up its sleeve. One of them being this 6061 aluminum frame. So, even though this is a huge bike, it’s actually a little bit lighter than you would think. It’s still heavy, but it’s not too bad. And the XT600DL is also a dual motor bike. So, they give you two 1 1200 W peak output motors for 2400 watts of peak output power. And they say that this thing can get up to 35 to 40 mph depending on how much you weigh. And these dual motors are connected to a 52volt 25 amp hour battery here in the middle for just a little bit extra boost over your average 48volt bike. So I really love this black and red paint job here on the aluminum frame. And then for the wheels, they also give you these red wheels which look really, really awesome in contrast with that black frame. The tires on here are also huge. They’re 26×4 in fat tires with Chowyang Hipposkin tires on them. So, in the front here, we have an inverted front fork, which is compression adjustable. Then, in the rear here, we have a coil shock that also has a nozzle to hook up a shock pump so that you can fill it up and change the dampening of the shock. The XT600DL does come with hydraulic brakes, which I believe are quad piston, and they are the same ones that came on the old DK300 Max, which is what I have over here. And those were very good brakes, so I think they should be really good for this bike, especially since they can go pretty fast. Then in the back you’ve got a tail light which is built into the back of the seat. It also is a brake light. And for our headlight we have some nice DRLs here on the left and right. And then also in the middle here surrounding the high beam and low beam headlight. So you have dual beam headlights on this thing. And holding down the power button to turn on our screen here. You can see it greets us with the Mod logo. You see we’ve got a pretty cool UI here and it actually changes colors as you go up the pedal assist. So it’s red when you’re at your fastest. You can see down here there’s also a logo to switch between dual and single motor. So then you just press the power button, you’re in dual motor mode, and you can use the front motor only and then rear motor only. You’ve also got some really comfortable rubber grips, which are the same ones that come on the DK300 Max. And the brake levers feel really, really good, just like the DK300 Max as well. Screen also is really high quality, and you get a nice battery bar up there. It is an LCD screen, so it’s a step above most ebikes. You also have a pretty interesting throttle here. You actually just push this button down with your thumb and it’ll accelerate the bike. And then you have a seven-speed Shimano shifter right here. This is how I look sitting on the XT600 DL. This is a big bike and I am 5’9 with a uh 31in inseam and I could fit on it just fine. But, you know, if you’re a shorter rider, this definitely isn’t going to be a bike for you just cuz this is, like I said, a pretty big frame on this thing. But overall, feels really good. That front suspension feels super soft. Rear suspension feels good, too. I’m noticing that the seat is pretty firm just from sitting on it in the first two seconds, and it is nonadjustable, but I think it should fit a pretty wide variety of riders. Grips feel really comfortable. Brake levers feel awesome on this thing. I actually like this little thumb throttle here. We’ll see what happens when we’re giving it a longer ride, but just initially, it feels pretty good. I’ve never seen this on any ebike or scooter before. And overall, this definitely does feel like a good quality bike, which hopefully it does because this is not an inexpensive bike. Um, this bike is retailing right now for $21.99. Any discounts that I can get for you guys will be in the link in the description. But I remember seeing this bike a few months ago for under $2,000, but officially Melod selling it for $21.99 at the time of recording this. So, it has gone up a little bit. Maybe it’s because of tariffs, but I think that this is a really well-designed bike. And you have to remember this is an aluminum frame, too. So, it’s going to be more expensive than your average steel frame that are that’s on a lot of ebikes and it’s going to be a little bit lighter because of that as well. That’s also not to mention the fact that this thing is a 52vt bike and it does have dual motors. So, overall the price doesn’t seem crazy or out of touch, but it’s definitely not the cheapest, most valuebased ebike. So, at first glance, the XT600DL seems like a pretty cool bike, but what do you say we get it out in the real world, go test this thing out? All right, guys. So, out here on the XT600 DL. Now, this is a bike that I’ve actually known known of for a long time. I’m surprised that uh Mad sent me this out to test because I don’t think they’ve changed anything on it. And this bike’s been out for a long time. You know, I checked out the DK300 Max well over a year ago now. And uh you know, they just updated that bike, but the XT600 DL hasn’t really changed much from what I understand. But it’s always been an interesting bike to me because I’ve seen a lot of people review it and uh it’s just a cool bike. It’s very different from anything else that you really see out on the market. You know, you’ve got plenty of dual motor bikes, you got plenty of 26-in bikes, you got plenty of 52 volt bikes, but one that kind of combines all of these things. And then on top of that, the unique kind of custom frame on this thing, it just looks really, really cool. And it performs well obviously because it’s a dual motor bike. 35. Woohoo. Testing out those brakes. Man, this thing is fast. And going up that hill there. It does handle it pretty well. Man, this thing is cooking. And 35 37 feels really solid at speed. Since this is a 26-in bike, it’s pretty heavy. Yeah, we’re getting up to about 37 mph there. That’s awesome. So, yeah, just taking it on this off-road construction site here. Feeling pretty good. Now, these are Chowoyang. Whoa, big bumps. Whoa. Yeah, that’s that’s got plenty of power. So, the tires on here are those Na’vi Chowyang tires like we were talking about back in the garage. And man, this thing actually they they feel pretty good off-road. I mean, they’re average. They’re pretty average tires, but this thing does really well off-road. I’m very surprised. It feels great hitting this bump. Yeah, you know, it’s a bicycle frame. There’s only so much that you can do as far as suspension. You know, if you don’t have dirt bike suspension on this thing, let’s turn over here. and see how it does off-road. This being a dual motor bike, you should get pretty good off-road performance. Let’s go downhill down here and see how it does on hills. Oh, the suspension. Oh, man. Yeah, not the softest, but let’s come from a stop. Floor it. Hey, you know, it claws its way up there. You can hear that front tire kind of slipping around a little bit, but you know, it claws up it. Let’s uh go back down here and give it a little bit of a run. Yeah. So, with a run out and coming up at an angle, you can get up these hills just fine. There’s definitely a good amount of power on this thing. It is one of the more powerful feeling ebikes that I’ve tested recently. Oh, man. We’re ripping. This is awesome. It does kind of look like an off-road bike, too. You know, it looks, like I said, a mix of like a regular mountain bike and a dirt bike. So, really, really cool styling on this. you’re going to want a dirt bike if you’re going to be riding on really bumpy stuff, but this is still fun to just uh get off here and especially if you stand up a little bit, you can ride over this stuff. It makes it a little bit more comfortable. So, one thing that I’ve noticed with these big 26-in bikes like this, and it’s not this bike exclusively, pretty much every 26-in bike that I’ve ever been on felt like this. There’s almost like this jello kind of wobble effect and it really doesn’t affect you when you’re riding along. But if I kind of move the handlebars like this, you can feel like there’s some flex in the frame and in the forks and everything. I think it’s just because 26 in is such a huge wheel size for a bike and in the frame and the forks and everything. There’s just a little bit of not play, but a little bit of wobble in the frame. That’s just something that I have noticed, like I said, with pretty much all 26-in bikes that I’ve been on. Ah crap, my helmet straps aren’t done. And if you go off the line like that, it will spin out that front tire. I notices the when I was on a full charge, the tire would definitely spin out a little bit more, but it’s not spinning out as much. Man, this thing just gets going. It feels so good. It’s been a while since I’ve been on a dual motor bike like this. And uh this is probably the most powerful dual motor bike that I’ve been on cuz I’ve been on only 48 volt dual motor bikes and this one’s a 52 volt. So yeah, it’s definitely the most powerful one that I’ve been on. You can get up to cruising speed really quick and it you’re going to be able to cruise with traffic and everything on this if you’re in a city. So it just feels really good. But let’s knock this thing down into single motor mode. I’m going to do just rear motor only and we’ll see how it does. You know, it still feels pretty good. Obviously, we’re not getting up to speed as fast. The tires are pretty loud on this since they are knobby tires, but you could swap them out for more road focused tires. You can switch out for different modes on this thing, but do you really want to switch out of dual motor mode? I just keep it in dual motor mode most of the time, but we can do front motor mode, too. And that’s a strange feeling when you’re on front motor mode only and you’re it’s like you’re in a front-wheel drive car and you’re being kind of pulled along. It’s a weird sensation on an electric bike. But if you want to use the front motor only for whatever reason, you can. We’ll check out the pedal assist uh levels right now. See if that limits our power at all. So, I’m in pedal assist one right here. screen turns green. Hopefully you guys can see the screen. Screen turns green there. Um I don’t know. It’s not really limiting my power much. That’s weird. Yeah, I’m still getting up. It’s still going just as fast on the little throttle here. Looks like it ignores the pedal assist levels when you’re on throttle and it just gives you the full power all the time, which I guess is pretty cool. Uh turned us into walk mode. There we go. Pedal assist zero is going to be the throttle’s off. you’re on your own. Yeah. So, pedal assist one giving us full power when we’re on the throttle. Let’s go over here and pedal and see what the power is like. So, I’m going to shift into seventh gear here. Pedaling is a little bit awkward on this bike. It feels more like a moped style bike than uh than like a actual mountain bike. So, in pedal assist one here, I’m pedaling about 19 mph and it feels like I can still put some power down there. I’m kind of ghost pedaling. I’m at like the very limit of what this is good for, but let’s switch into single motor mode. Actually, I think our pedal assist will be a little bit better in single motor mode. So, it looks like we’re hovering at about 15 miles an hour in seventh gear on this thing. The seat on this is pretty firm, not going to lie. And it’s not like a mountain bike where you can adjust it. So, this is kind of the worst of both worlds. You know, you have no adjustability in the seat. And it feels like my heels are kind of kicking on the are hitting on the frame. So, this is definitely not a bike that you’re going to really want to be pedaling too much on. You definitely can, especially if you’re passing a cup or something, but you know, this is a lot more of a throttle bike. Let’s just shift it up in a pedal assist 2 and see what it does. This is probably just a cadence sensor on this, which is good anyways, cuz it’d be kind of a waste to put a torque sensor on this cuz again, you’re not going to be pedaling it much. But in single motor mode and rear rear wheel drive only, it feels pretty chill. It feels just kind of like a normal ebike. There is a lot more power than uh like a regular 48vt bike. It just feels like a normal kind of chill experience. Feels good. And then front motor mode. I don’t know why you’d want to have it in front motor mode only. That’s kind of weird. It’s It’s an odd sensation because you can be trying to steer and the wheel wants to go straight, but you’re trying to steer when you’re accelerating. So, there’s some cool bikes around the $2,000 mark. There’s some cool bikes around the $2,000 mark. for example, you can get a wired freedom for around $2,000. You’re probably going to be looking at more like 24 2500 with shipping and everything on that bike. So, this is a little bit cheaper. It’s only 52 volts, but it is dual motor, and you’re going to get some really good acceleration out of this thing. This thing accelerates fast, man. If you’ve only ever been on a single motor bike, this is going to be a really, really awesome uh feeling to be on this thing. Oh, flying down the bike trail right now. So, the brakes on the XT600DL stopping from about 30 mph, they are really, really good. They feel awesome. I was worried that since this is such a big wheel on here, a 26-in wheel, that the brakes weren’t going to feel like they were adequate, but they do feel more than adequate for this bike. That’s an issue with a lot of 26-in bikes, is stopping power because you have such a big wheel, and a lot of times you have a pretty heavy bike with a lot of mass and trying to get that that all to stop is uh is not easy. But on this, they definitely dialed the brakes in on here. Since I have the old DK300 Max, why don’t we compare these a little bit on my thoughts on uh if you’re looking between these two bikes, this one so far, it just feels like a bigger DK300 Max, I guess you could say. You know, the 26-in wheels and everything, it feels really good. I like the riding position on this. The DK300 Max felt like a little motorcycle, and I think I prefer that. like if I was going to choose between these two bikes, but this one definitely feels even faster than the DK300 Max. And it it can go a little bit faster than the DK300 Max at 37 38 mph top speed. The nice thing about the DK300 Max, though, is it has dual batteries, whereas this one only has a single 25 amp hour battery. And we’ve gone about 9 miles and we’re at a little over half battery. We’re probably at like 2/3 right now. So, really not bad cuz I’m going hard on this thing. I’m dual motor off-road. Like, I’m not taking it easy on this. Going full speed, too. Here. I just really liked the riding position on the DK300 Max. It did feel like a little mini motorcycle, and I tend to prefer bikes like that. This thing feels I I don’t know what it feels like. It feels like a weird mountain bike hybrid between a mountain bike and a dirt bike. And I guess if you’re a bigger person, this is going to be a good bike for you. I’m average. I’m 5’9, 150 lb, 31 inseam. So, I fit on this I still fit on this perfectly fine. If you’re a shorter rider, you’re probably not going to like this because it is it is kind of a handful. Uh especially if you’re low speed maneuvering this thing. This bike is definitely a handful. Like back there, I was in the forest getting some B-roll and I was having to go back and forth and just having to move this thing back and forth. The wheels huge. It is a lot to to be moving around. This bike is actually a little bit lighter than the DK300 Max because the DK300 Max is made of steel, whereas this is made of aluminum. So, you do get a little bit of weight savings there. So, I they’re both heavy bikes. The brakes feel about the same on the DK300 Max versus this. They’re both really, really good. I like the screen better on this one. It’s a nicer looking screen on here. And I think the DK300 Max is like 95% of this bike, but it is a few hundred bucks cheaper. So, if you’re really price sensitive and you’re you’re on a more of a budget and you’re going between these two bikes, you might want to get the DK300 Max. Both of them are not going to be great for pedaling. You know, the DK300 Max is a motorcycle style. It’s just not going to be very good for pedaling. I think Milod’s bikes are kind of underrated. You know, I don’t know why they don’t get more attention. I know that plenty of people on YouTube and stuff review their bikes, but I don’t really see these bikes getting talked about much. Like the DK300 Max is one of my favorite moped bikes ever. And this is definitely one of my favorite 26-in bikes right here. Just one of my favorite ebikes in general. This is such a fun and fast bike. The seat is pretty hard. My butt is falling asleep on here and it’s only been about 11 or 12 miles. Also, the kickstand is one of those where it’s in the middle of the bike and if you’re moving it around, then the pedals will hit it and the pedals will get stuck on there and you have to like lift the tire up and move it. It’s not a big deal. Like I said, it’s a minor gripe. I don’t know why MA just can’t put a twist throttle on their bikes. I know the DK300 Max had a thumb throttle, but it wasn’t like this. It was like a more traditional thumb throttle. This is just weird. It’s fine, but it’s a little bit harder to modulate, too, especially when you’re using dual motors and it’s going to be a little bit more twitchy and you’re getting thrown back and forth. Suspension on the rear also isn’t the softest. It still feels okay. Like, but I think a better seat on this would go a long way on this bike because that rear seat is isn’t isn’t the greatest. Other than those minor things, the setup was really easy on this. And I just really like this. I think the styling on this thing is super cool. You know, the red and black paint on here. I like the riding position on here. You know, it feels a little bit hunched over, kind of like a mountain bike. You’re you’re hunched over almost like you’re on a sport bike or something. And I tend to like that riding position better on here. It’s also very stable. I can take my hands off of the handlebars. Oh, man. This thing just picks up speed like in that mid-range and top end. It just gets going, man. Oh, wow. This thing is so much fun for ripping on this thing, man. Whoa. Hitting some bumps. I love how this bike looks. The styling is just so cool on this thing. I mean, look at that red and black paint on there. The seat looks really cool as well. It I can’t get over this thing just being like this weird hybrid uh motorcycle like dirt bike looking thing. It It’s such a cool look. I don’t know. I I really like this. It kind of stands out from other ebikes. This is what I was talking about with the kickstand here. You can see you can push it back and it hits the kickstand. And then you can’t like move the bike backwards. It it just locks itself up and gets stuck on the kickstand there. And to move it out of the way, you got to hit the uh I’m going to take it out of dual motor mode. I actually did this earlier and I almost dropped the bike because I moved the pedals. The cadence sensor turned on and then uh I almost dropped the bike. But then you can see now that we can uh move the kickstand back. Here’s uh how the kickstand looks. Like I was saying, it’s kind of rubbing on that back tire a little bit there. Um, I definitely can adjust that. It’s really simple right there. But yeah, just out of the box, it was rubbing a little bit there. Let’s give it a go from a dig in dual motor mode. Oh yeah, this thing rips, man. These brakes are so good, man. Stopping from 30. That was crazy. We’ve gone about 14 miles on our ride so far and we’re at about half battery. So really good battery life out of this thing. It’s actually a little bit more uh battery life than I was expecting. I’m a little surprised. I saw that 25 A battery and I was like, man, that’s probably not going to last very long. But, you know, I could see this thing easily getting like 28, 30 mi of range. A lot to like with this bike. I think that the biggest thing with this is the styling and uniqueness. Like, you really don’t see any other bikes like this on the market. the 26-in dual motor like big bike like this, especially the styling on this thing. It’s just a an interesting looking frame. I think it looks really cool. The front suspension is nice. Rear suspension isn’t the best. The seat is not the best either. It’s a little bit firm, and I wish I could say that you could just go replace this thing, but I don’t know what kind of seat would fit on here. You definitely have to do some digging and find out. So, if you plan on riding this for longer stints, I would say you might want to get a better seat on this. A ton of power. stupid power on this thing. More power than you need to have fun for sure. Uh this thing just rips. Is an absolute beast of an ebike. And I think if you’re somebody who wants something like the DK300 Max, but you’re a bigger person. Like if you’re 6’2, 63 and above and you have trouble fitting on bikes, I think you’re going to be able to fit on this bike just fine. Just don’t buy it to pedal because it’s not a great pedal bike either. Really impressive bike. It’s been out for a long time now and I’m glad that I finally got my hands on one to check out. MA just hits it out of the park every time with both their bikes that I’ve reviewed. I’ve loved both of them. So, if you do want to pick this thing up, I will go ahead and leave a link in the description. Any discount codes that I can get for you guys will be there as well. If you do pick this bike up, I hope you enjoy it. And if you do have this, let me know what you think about it in the comments below. With that being said, guys, hope you’re all enjoying your ebikes out there, enjoying the fall, and I will see you all in the next video. Oh, take care.
