Toyota’s BEST Hybrid! //2026 Toyota Prius PHEV//

The base model plug-in hybrid Prius might be Toyota’s best hybrid. I’ll include a link to the ORM Toyota’s website in the description down below. They’re providing us with the car. Also include a link to my car buying guide. Let’s get into it. [Music] [Applause] This is powered by a 2 L 4 cylinder paired to a plug-in hybrid. The MPG rating is 127. This can still get 52 m per gallon while uncharged, right, without the hybrid assist. And then it can go 45 miles on a charge. Produces 220 horsepower. We’re closing in on 500,000 subscribers. I’d really appreciate if you’d help out with that. Now, the Prius hood design is very angular, and you’ll notice the car itself is very angular. When you pop down to the headlights, pretty cool looking, I think. Parking sensors below that, and you notice the front end’s mostly closed off. You don’t need a lot of air flow for a 2 L 4-cylinder. So, it does give the Prius kind of more of an EV like appearance even though it’s a hybrid. Tire wheel setup is 195x 60×7. The wheels are mostly closed off for aerodynamic efficiency. You’ve got those unpainted fender flares. The mirror caps are actually blacked out. And then when it comes to the side profile of the Prius, it is a little bit of an egg shape, but it’s aerodynamic. Key fob features, you’ve got the Prius logo there on the back. On the front face, we have our lock and unlock function. And yeah, they keep it pretty simple. Now, with the rear hatch here, it’s just going to pop right open. It’s hydraulic. You’ve got a cargo cover built in from the factory. And then when it comes to storage space, it’s not massive at all. This is a smaller car, but it’s still doable. And then we actually do get a 1500 W outlet here in the back, which is nice. Got the light bar. There’s little SE badge above to let you guys know the packaging on it. PV badge, too. And that will cap things off for the exterior on this Prius. This week’s giveaway makes my Jeep look because it is a supercharged Rubicon 392 that is fully decked out, producing $650 horsepower. Now, not only can you win this Rubicon 392, but part of the giveaway is also $26,000 in cash to help pay for the taxes. And not only that, your donations go towards helping children’s and veterans charities. So, use code BHC or click the link in the description down below or in the pinned comment. Any donation $25 or more will give you 4x bonus entries. Let’s now check out the interior. Now, material used on the door panel itself is going to be a little bit more basic. You’ve got cloth seats here, red stitching on the sides, too. Leg room in the back is pretty good. It’s a little bit compact, though, of course. And then you’ve got some USB ports. We have another 1500 watt outlet here in the back. And then headroom is not massive because of the sloped design. Keyless entry up front. And let’s check that out. Blind spot monitoring with the mirrors. And then down below we’ve got all of our window controls, mirror adjustments, too. And then we do have a little bit of soft touch there for the driver. So you can see with the seats, you got cloth trim. You’ve got that red accenting. The seats manually adjustable. The steering wheel has quite a few controls on it. You’ve got controls for the adaptive cruise control, your lane centering, volume and voice command controls built into it as well. And then this actually lets you change the information that’s displayed up top. They’re still sticking with the digital gauge cluster that kind of doubles as a heads-up display with its placement high up on the dash. Um yeah, it shows you a bunch of basic bits of vehicle information. You can somewhat customize what’s shown up here. Yeah, it’s still in that kind of awkward placing where it’s somewhat behind the steering wheel. Backup camera in reverse. Resolution on it is decent. And then you guys can see we’ve got a shortcut bar here on the side volume control. And you know, it responds pretty quickly overall. And then you can see down below, we’ve got analog controls here for the climate, single zone climate with this. And then if we actually kind of follow this across the dash, you got that line and then some soft touch there. USB ports and 12 volts. And then see a little storage area, some cup holders up front. Got the shifter to put it into gear with that ECVT. Some more storage next to it. Behind it, you’ve got like your drive mode select and then your auto hold. That’s for stability, parking, brake, and then this is the plug-in hybrid stuff. So, basically to have it be automatic between hybrid and EV or you can change it from hybrid to EV. There’s lots that you can do. You can also charge the battery if you want or not charge it. Depends on what you’re wanting to do while you’re driving. USB ports and then there is some soft touch on top. 2026 Prius plug-in hybrid 35,764. Let’s see how this Prius performs. Let us set off in the Prius plug-in hybrid. We’re just in hybrid. Let’s see. Oh, battery is too low for EV mode. Interesting. Just in hybrid mode, but it’s going to have the engine on. Now, obviously, in I’ve driven several of these plug-in hybrids over the years. in EV mode. I mean, you’ve got plenty of power, plenty of get up and go, so you got to remember it’s a small car. These seats, uh, the cloth seats, they’re firm but comfortable. And having the engine on, I mean, it’s not too bad, honestly. Huh. Interesting. Wouldn’t even let me shift at all with the battery being low. Very interesting. I doubt this has acoustic glass. Yeah, I wouldn’t think so. Not in a Prius. Oh, now they turn. So, we’ve been sitting behind this person, as you can see, for a little bit. No turn signal on. And I think they were just texting. I think they realized that I just don’t understand people. It’s like if you’re going to be on your phone or something like or do some even if it’s not your phone. If you’re just going to be doing something in your car, not driving, like just go into a parking space, sit there, get what you’re getting done done, and then go like blocking. Like the amount of times that I get blocked by people that are just sitting in their car like as if they’re parked, but they’re not in a parking space. So inconsiderate. This is pretty comfortable. You do hear quite a bit of road noise. It’s not bad, but you just hear everything. Again, it’s a it’s an economy car. That’s kind of to be expected. The dash is weird. I mean, it is so long. I feel like I’ve got an entire car in front of me. It’s It’s really weird. And I I just I don’t understand why they I mean, I kind of get this for aerodynamics. I kind of understand it, but also it’s like, man, it’s so weird having that gauge cluster all the way back there and then there’s more dash behind it. It’s like, what the heck? You know, most cars you kind of feel like you’re just behind the front. This feels like I’m I’m basically sitting in the center of the car. It’s really strange. There we go. We’re in Eevee mode a little bit. Yeah, the transition’s seamless and the power is good. Again, for what this car is, more than enough power. So to conclude, I think that the new Prius still I think the styling they did a good job. I don’t like this whole dash situation. Like they need to redo the whole gauge cluster so that it’s hard to place the steering wheel. It’s hard to place the seat, you know? So they just need to redo that whole thing. And then other than that, I mean, Prius is doing what the Prius is known for. Uh, I’ve noticed a lot of people are not as excited about the Prius anymore because of the new Camry. And I I can agree with that. Like, I think that the Camry is close enough in price to the Prius, even though they don’t offer plug-in Camry at this point. Close enough in price. And you get a bigger car, more comfortable. You can get it with acoustic glass, so that’s quieter. just kind of feels more luxurious overall. So, I think there’s a lot of appeal with the new Camry. And yeah, it does seem like it’s worth the extra money. And here’s the deal is like again, they don’t come with a plugin, but the new Camry still can get like 50 m per gallon. So, it’s more than efficient enough to be like, “Yeah, you know, I don’t really need the whole plug-in hybrid aspect of it.” Let me know your thoughts. [Music]
