So comes from there and then you can I’ll come to that later. You might also notice that it has a belt instead. How about that? Pedal assist, very very smooth ride. It’s amazing. Now, I’ve got a couple of that when you start to turn the get like a joke from the motor. It’s not like that. This has got a very very smooth, like I said, it’s a torque sensor. So there’s quite a lot of unique features about this ebike. So in the next thing I’m going to be taking a closer look at the features of this ebike. Right. Okay. I’ve just turned the bike around because I wanted to show you this side. 20in wheels. It’s not one of those fat tire ebikes. This one, it’s got very, very slim tires on it. 20 in. And also, look at those disc brakes as well. Look at these huge vented disc brakes as well. We got a stand there down there. We’ve also got folded pedals up a bit. Look, we can fold the pedals up. Again, another thing to portability to be able to fold up the pedals. Got a disc brake on the front as well. I want to mention about this particular model I have here is that it has front suspension. Can you see? Look at that. We’ve got front suspension. Now, when I went on the website, I could not find this particular model. Now, the closest I could find retails at £899. And if you use my code in the description, you can get 30 off that price. So, I think £899. And don’t get the discount code in the description. But if this is too small for you or not what you’re looking for, we’ve got plenty of other bikes available. We’ve got big bikes as well. We’ve got fat tires. There’s plenty of other on the sink of the seat. The And that is a Samsung battery. Now they don’t if you don’t turn it up forward to max power and use like a a medium setting and you maybe you’re not quite as big as me. I’m about 6 in. You can get up to 60 miles of range out of this bike or 100 kilometers if you’re in money. I don’t know about I can’t confirm that. I’ve watched a few videos about it. It’s possible what the manufacturers say you can get up to 60 miles of out of this bike. I think it’s been told as well that’s obviously going to help. You can see we’ve got a cable coming down here and that goes straight into there. It’s quite easy to disconnect so that you can charge the the battery off the bike. You don’t need to have the battery on the back. You take that off and then you basically just undo this uh clip here and uh then you can take it out. Something I forgot to mention, there’s actually a button on top of the back which you have to press to make sure the bike comes out. So when you press that button there, can you see that you’re doing right? That means that uh you can turn the bike on. If that’s turned off, I’ll turn the bike off. So I’ve now got the battery. So now you can take this into your house and charge the battery. What you do is like that’s where it gets plugged into the bike there. And this little rubber thing here, you pull that across and that’s where you plug in the charger to charge the battery there. So that’s handy. You don’t have to take the bag into your house to charge it. But Don’t forget you can always down. It’s got also position. You can also adjust the handlebars up and down. I might need to have those raised a little bit for me because I’m quite tall. a little bit higher up and we got a bell. That’s a proper bell that is I’m going to have a go at folding it up. But before I do that, I want to show you the control panel. So, let’s have a little look at the control panel and see how we power this back up. Okay, so we’re now looking at the instrument panel here. It’s an IPS display. And I’m going to hold the button down and watch it now. That’s the brand name that doesn’t take long to start up. And as you can see, we’ve got a read out here. I’ve changed it to miles an hour. And it’s a very, very simple display really. All you do is you’ve got the plus and minus here. Can you see how we’ve got the plus and minus? Basically, if you don’t mind, you turn off the assistance all together. So, there’s no assistance if you want to ride it without assistance. So, we press once. We’ve got assistance number one. And then we’ve got a distance number two and assistance number three. Now that will take you all the way up to 15.5 miles per hour before the motor cuts out and then you’re on your own. But the assistance is for UK spec or European spec 15.5 miles an hour of assistance. Um you can also turn the light. If you if you hold the plus button down you’ll notice the light. See that there come off. So that’s the headlight just come on there and if I hold it down again the headlight will go off. So that’s pretty in fact I’ll just show you the rear light. Let’s have a look. Come around the back. Can you see we’ve got a rear light here. Now this light here is actually not connected to the back to it. So you have to press it back here. So the rear b is connected to to the the main battery. So, there you go. Right, this is the fun part. Now, can I fold this bike up? Right. Well, the first thing I’m going to do is I’m going to fold the pedals in because it’s got foldable pedals. So, let’s fold the pedals in. That was quite easy. Put the kickstand up. First thing I’m going to do is to unlock this the main part of the frame. Like I say, it’s got a safety lock on it, so it’s not going to come apart when you’re riding it. And what we’ll do, I’ve had a bit of a practice one on it. The next, the last thing, I suppose, is to unlock the handlebars. And the handlebars come down like this. And there you go. It is now folded up. Look at that. And what you do, the final thing to do, I suppose, is to drop the seat down to there. So there you go. The bike. I mean, look at that. Now, look at that. You can fit that quite easy into a car boot. In fact, I’m going to show you now me putting this into a car. Check this out. Okay, so I’ve got the bike all folded up and we’re going to try to get it into the back of this Volkswagen car. It’s a hat, not a boot. Let’s see how easily this bike goes the back of this hat back. Okay, here we go. I tell you what, it feels a bit heavy when it’s folded up, you know, but I can handle it all. Right. Well, there it goes. I took the parcel shaft off the car, but I don’t think you really need to. parcel shelf. So, we need to put the thing down a bit, but let’s see if the hatch back shut. There you go. It didn’t take that I tell you what, it did not take that much to put this back together. I’m telling you, it was it was virtually put together in the box. All I had to do was pretty much unfold the bag, put the pedals on, and also I put these mud guards on. Now, the mud guards are not on some models as well and it was actually a bit of a pain to get that front mud guard on. I have to say it was a bit of a pain but I got it on in the end. So this one does have mud guards as you can see front and back on the back. No. Now I do like a bike but I can probably understand why they haven’t put a rack on to keep it lighter. Isn’t it? Now you can get some models with racks on the back if you want or you probably could upgrade the one with a rack if you want the rack. But anyway, I am going to get on the bike now and uh have a little ride on it. I think I’m just going to adjust the seat a little bit because it’s a little bit a little bit high. I’m just What you need to do is you need to make sure that the seat that you can put your your leg straight down. Can you see that? How do I look on the bike? I don’t want too big for it. I hope. But this is the exciting part now. I’m actually going to be taking it on the road. We’re just here by the airport around here. The sun is getting low and uh I’ll probably have to come back and do some more riding tomorrow. Might even do some riding at night as well. That’ll be exciting, won’t it? We’ll get chance to see how good the lights are. But anyway, uh oh, something else as well I want to mention. The brakes are actually round. I can’t believe this. I did another bike last year and you know your right hand at the front is meant to stop the front wheel, but on this one it’s stop the back wheel. So I just want to show you now if I was to spit the front wheel and pull the left brake. So it’s this brake which operates the front and the right hand brake operates the back. So it’s actually the wrong way around. Now you could quite easily just take these off the reel and flip them over. That’s one way of doing it. Or you could maybe take off the cables and just swap the cables over. A little bit annoying that but uh I’ve had that before, but there you go. Anyway, I’m going to have a little ride. A lot of people learn to drive around. We’re actually just If you look up here, you see that building over there? That’s called light works and it’s where they make the black with illumination. That big building there. But I’m going to be taking a little ride around here. So, here we go. Here we go. I had I bet you thought he’s going to ride off and he’s not going to wear a helmet. Well, first I’m not going to be naughty in this video. I’m going to wear my helmet. You must wear a helmet when you’re riding one of these bikes. It’s highly recommended because you never know if you if you have a bit of a tle, you could be in big trouble. But anyway, we’re going to have a little ride, gentle ride, just to start off around here. Like I said, we just ran the airport. People love to drive cars around here and it’s pretty quiet at this time of night. There’s nobody around. So, we’re going to have a little ride around here and we’ll see how the bike goes. Okay. Before I start, I want to show you now they’ve actually got an app. So, I’ve got an iPhone 16 here and I’ve downloaded this from the app store. It’s called ebike. And when you press on that, you can actually do quite a lot. So, it shows all the models of bikes. And what you do, you click up here and I click on that one, the adult air. So, I click on that and it can link up to the bike. See, it’s got a Bluetooth signal there. See? So, it can And you know, here’s another thing as well. I don’t know if you can see under here. I don’t if you can get down there. Can you see? We’ve got like a little thing that pulls out. There’s actually a USB socket in there. So, you can actually charge up your phone while you’re riding your bike. How about that? But as you can see here, we’ve got the app there. And you can even use it to turn the light on and off. You can press that and it’ll turn the light on or off there. If you press that, you can change the mileage to kilometers an hour if that’s what you want to do. And you can find out how many miles you’re doing. There’s a calendar on there, date, cycling, mileage, timing, all that. I won’t go into too much detail about this. I’m not too sure that I did get a holder for it. I won’t be using it right now, but I did get a holder included, so we can stick it on there. Don’t forget you’ve got that USB charger and you can charge your phone up while you’re riding the bike. Anyway, it’s time to get on the road. Okay, so here we go. I’m about to get onto the bike now. You’re going to get a rider’s eye view. Here we go. Right, kick back the stand. Turn it on. Hold the button down for a few seconds. We get the the logo come up there and we’re at an hour at the moment. speed number one. So, we’re going to have a little run up. [Music] [Music] As soon as I put that pedal down, the power comes on. I don’t know if you can hear it’s a very, very silent motor as well. Speed number about seven miles an hour. I want to go up to number two. And straight away, as soon as I put it up to number two, I can hear the motor. I don’t know if you can hear like a sound. It’s actually really really quiet. So, we’re now doing 10 miles hour just now. So, I’ll turn around and then we’ll go to number three. So, we’ll just turn around here. I tell you what, there’s a lot of work going on around here, you know, close to a lot of factories and stuff around here. And this has got to be one of the biggest ones, the black elimination. So, going to head back now this way. And I’m going to put it up to number three. Here we go. And I’m going to take it up to the maximum speed of 15. There we are. 15.5 mph is the maximum speed you can do. This is so easy. Hey riders, welcome to my channel. There are many amazing ebikes available. Be sure to check the links in my bio, your ultimate destination for the latest ebike reviews, hands-on tests, and electric bike comparisons. From rugged fat tire models to convenient folding commuter bikes, I provide all the information you need to find the perfect ebike for your lifestyle. Thinking of buying an ebike? Watch before you buy. Each video is designed to help you make smarter choices. Hey riders, welcome to my channel. There are many amazing ebikes available. Be sure to check the links in my bio. Welcome to another video on the wild side and I’m here in I have got another I know some of you out there are probably thinking he’s selling another. Well, this is the first that I’ve done a video on for quite a while. And funny enough, I get so many messages about will you review this ebike? Will you review that? Honestly, the amount of messages that I get is unbelievable. And I ignore most of them. But when this one came along, this is the end. model is an E26. 4 in. The tires are 4 in wide. It’s available in blue and it’s also available in a very nice sort of dark gray color as well. But I thought that I would choose yellow fish. really bright yellow color. And really, you know, when I got the email, I thought, you know what? Like I say, I get so many emails about different types of bikes and when I got this one from anyway, you know, I’ve seen quite a lot of people riding. It’s probably the most By the way, the weight of this bag is 34 and a half kilos. That is not light. That is I can lift it, but I tell you what, that is that is not light. So, uh, what we’ll do is we’ll take a little look around the bike and we’ll take a closeup of all the features it’s got. Like I say, it’s pedal assisted UK spec. It does have a throttle on it. So, you can walk the bike and you can use a throttle on it. You can use the throttle just to the bike and then you can the There’s two different model again the M26 sorry this Do you want to give a shout out to Jason from Black Bike Services who kindly helped me make that the bike was all put together correctly. I didn’t have too much of a problem putting it together, but there were a couple of bits. The instructions, well, they weren’t the best. And Jason got in contact with me and he said he’d help us just make sure the gears, the brakes, and all the nuts and bolts and all that sort of thing. And he came down and he helped me to put it together. He’s really, really good. I’ll show you his card on the screen now. If you live in collect and we’ll see some of the sites, but before we do that, let’s take a close [Music] I didn’t mention the price9 for all the features that you get on this bike. It’s got 50 W motor and it does speeds of up to 15.5 miles an hour. That’s restricted for the UK. It might be different in the country. If you’re in America, for instance, I think you’re allowed to do up to 25 miles an hour in America. As I mentioned before, it does have a throttle on it. The throttle is set for walking with the bike. Although if you know how to work the menu, you can actually go into the menu and you can set the throttle so that you can use the throttle. And I believe you can do up to about 28 mph, but that must be off the road. You cannot use a throttle on the road on an ebike. So, I just got to get that in. It’s got five different power assist modes. And I think to be quite honest, I think I would probably just stick it in the top mode. Maybe three, three to five because the first two you don’t really feel that much assistance. As soon as the wheels start moving, that’s when the power comes on and you feel that power and you really don’t have to give it much effort at all. And that’s the whole thing about an ebike. You do have to pedal the bike of course, but as soon as you start pedaling and the wheels start turning, that assistance then comes in. So if you’re ever riding into the wind, it’s effortless. You know what it’s like when you’re riding into the wind, it’s really hard, isn’t it? And when you’re riding up a hill as well, oh, it’s a nightmare riding up a hill. But with an ebike like this one, it’s virtually effortless. All you got to do is keep turning the pedals. It’s got seven speed. It’s got Shimano sevenspeed gears on it. Nice quality gears. The brakes are hydraulic. Now, there is a bit of a problem with the brakes and there’s a bit of a hangle for me. This the brakes on this bike are the wrong way around. Now, normally your right hand, your right brake there, that would be your front wheel brake. But on this, it’s not the other way around. So, this right brake, if I was to spin the wheel and I pull the right brake, it operates the rear brake. And that’s I don’t know about that, folks. I would have a word with anybody. I’m going to mention that to them because I don’t think that’s particular. set up for you because they do say that the brakes are norally set up for whichever side of the road you ride on. But that’s a little bit I’m not too sure about that. So it can be swapped around. You could actually take the cables all the cables here, take the brakes off, but because they’re hydraulic, you might want to get an expert to do it. So I would probably speak to the chap that helped me build the bike and get him to simply swap the cables around so that then your foot brake is on the right side. So that’s bit of a problem for me with this bike. I mean fantastic bike and just look at it. It’s amazing. And something else as well got suspension on the front which can be locked. So you’ve got suspension there you see but also there’s a locking thing where you can lock the suspension which could be handy. I If you’re ever going up like a hill, you know when you’ve sort of bounced up and down a bit and it’s taking a bit of energy out of the your pedaling. So sometimes it might be worth locking that suspension. The chain, look at the chain there. Apparently this is um Jason told me about this. He said it’s a chain that’s coated and it doesn’t I’m not sure if it doesn’t need oil on it, but if you look at the chain, it doesn’t actually look like it’s got any oil on it. That’s the way you’re supposed to be. Obviously, you will need to maintain the bike according to the instructions. I’m sure in the instructions it will tell you how to maintain different parts of the bike, you know. So, those will all be instruction. The instructions were not particularly brilliant. I’ve had better instructions. You know, you know it’s like, don’t you having to sort of translate Chinese instructions? Sometimes it don’t always come out right. They were a little bit vague, I have to say, the instructions, but we got it together in the end. I just think it’s it’s brilliant. As you can see, the motor is in the rear wheel. So, the motor is actually there inside the wheel. We’ve got the the gears here on the back wheel. Of course, the derailer. I’ve got a derailer protector as well. According to that derailing, it’s a it’s a Tory. It’s a Tory. there with the protector on it. And here we’ve got the the rack which you can put a bag on. There’s all sorts of bolts and that where you can put a bag on there. The rear light is also connected to the the rack. We’ve got obviously a headlight on the front. A rear light and a brake light as well. Very, very handy. A brake light as well. We’ve got some bolts under here for the water bottle or maybe you want to put a water bottle there. And in my pocket, I have got a key. Now, this key here unlocks the battery. I hope so. That key goes in there. Now, if you don’t want to drag the bag into your house to charge it or you haven’t got a whole lot of wind, that sort of thing, you can take the battery off like this. It’s a heavy battery. I have to say it is a pretty heavy battery. It’s a battery and it has a capacity of 16 amp. nominal volage 48 volts. Yeah. Now, the range on this bike is actually really, really good. If you’re using the pedal assist mode and you’re not bombing it, you’re not using the top level and you’re in normal conditions. You can actually get up to 85 miles of range. That is really, really good. That’s the most range that I think I’ve had on any bike. If you’re using the throttle mode, however, you’re not going to get that kind of half that That’s the range you can get when you use the pedal assist mode and you’re not really giving it the full You can get over 80 miles. That’s amazing. So, there you go. You can actually take the battery off and you can plug it into the charger. You can plug it in right there. There’s also a level meter on it which tells you if you press the button, it tells you how much charge it’s got. So, I’ll just put this battery back on again. Now, it is really heavy. Be sure to check the links in my bio. as you can see. It’s a while since I did a video. And by the way, if you’re not interested in a video about an I am here and I’ve got this lightweight ebike sent to me by the air. Like I said, it’s a very lightweight ebike. This weighs around 18 kg. So easy to lift, which is quite unique really because a lot of the other ebikes which I have reviewed, if you’ve seen the videos I’ve done previously, some of those ebikes are weighing about 35 kilos. Now, this one is a whole lot different. It is so so light and transportable. That’s the main thing about this Ado Air20 ebike. And I’m going to be putting it through it paces in this video. I’m going to be taking this on the road. We’re going to be taking a bit of a trip around Black. I’m currently by the airport. If you look over there, that’s the airport over there. We just saw a a plane take off before actually. Yeah. But anyway, this video is all about this bike here. Now, the company name is actually down there. They’re actually called Oasis. Can you see that there? So, comes from that there. Like I said, it’s meant to be a portable bike, transportable bike that you can fold up. You literally just want that lap there and then you can fold it up. But I’ll come to that a bit later on. This is just like a general introduction. I’ve spoken about being really, really lightweight and transportable. You might also notice that it has a belt drive instead of a chain. How about that? It’s actually got a belt drive on it. It gives pedal assist. So, it’s got the pedals. What you do is you just turn the pedals and depending on what speed You’ve got the bike. It’s got a torque sensor inside the clamp and that it’s like a continuously variable transmission. The the motor starts to go and it’s like a very very smooth ride. It’s amazing. Now, I’ve got a couple of ebs that when you start to turn the pedals, the motor jump, you get like a jump in the motor. It’s not like that on this one. This has got a very, very smooth, like I said, it’s a torque sensor. So, there’s quite a lot of unique features about So, in the next scene, I’m going to be taking a closer look at the features of this Evan. Right. Okay. I’ve just turned the bike around because I wanted to show you this side. 20in wheels. It’s not one of those fat tire ebikes. It’s got very very slim tires on it. 20 in. And also look at those disc brakes as well. Look at the huge vented disc brakes as well. We’ve got a kickstand there down there. We’ve also got shoulder pedals. Look at this. Look, we can fold the pedals up. Again, another thing to help with portability to be able to fold up the pedals. Got a good on the as well. I want to mention about this particular model I have here is that it has front suspension. Can you see? Look at that. We’ve got front suspension. Now, when I went on the website, I could not find this particular model. Now, the closest model I could find retails at £899. And if you use my code that I put in the description, you can get 30 off that price. So, I think it’s an absolute bargain. £899. And don’t get the discount code in the description. But if this is too small for you or not what you’re looking for, we’ve got plenty of other bikes available. We’ve got big bikes as well. We’ve got fat tire bikes. There’s plenty of other ebikes on the website. So check it out. But we’re just going to have a quick overview of it. You might be wondering where is the battery? Well, this is one of the features of this bike. The battery is here. It’s actually the seat post. the seat post is the battery and that is a Samsung battery. Now they reckon if you’re very if you don’t use a whole lot if you don’t turn it up all the max power and you use like a medium setting and you uh maybe you’re not quite as big as me. I’m about 16 stone. You can get up to 60 miles of range out of this bike or 100 kilometers if you’re in New I don’t know about I can’t confirm that. I’ve watched a few videos about it. It’s possible. That’s what the manufacturers say we can get up to 60 miles of range out of this bike. I think with it being so light as well that’s obviously going to help. You can see we got a cable coming down here and that goes straight into there. Now it’s quite to disconnect so that you can charge the the battery off the bike. You don’t need to have the battery on the bike. You take that off and then you basically just undo this uh clip here and uh then you can take it out. Something I forgot to mention, there’s actually a button on top of the back which you have to press to make sure the bike comes on. So when you press that button there, can you see the green light? That means that uh you can turn the bike on. If that’s turned off, you can’t turn the bike on. So I’ve now got the battery. So now you charge the battery. What you do is like that’s where they get plugged into the bike there. And this little rubber thing here, you pull that off and that’s where you plug in the charger to charge the battery there. So that’s where you charge it. So that’s handy. You don’t have to take the bike into your house to charge it. It’s not going to take up a whole lot of space anyway. And don’t forget, you can always fold it up as well. You can adjust everything. You can adjust the seat up and down. Adjust the seat up and down. SH up and down. It’s got also some some a guide marker on the other side. You can also adjust the handle bars up and down. I might need to have those a little bit for me because I’m quite tall. need to be a little bit higher up. And we’ve got a bell. That’s a proper bell that isn’t it? I’m going to have a go at folding it up. But before I do that, I want to show you the control panel. So, let’s have a little look at the control panel and see how we powered it back up. Okay. So, we’re now looking at the instrument panel here. It’s an IPS display. Walk through. And I’m going to hold the now and watch a That’s the brand name there. Doesn’t take long to start up. And as you can see, we’ve got a read out here. I’ve changed it to miles an hour. And it’s a very, very simple display really. All you do is you’ve got the plus and minus here. Can you see how we’ve got the plus and minus? Basically, if you don’t mind us, you turn off the assistance all together. So, there’s no assistance if you want to ride it without assistance. So, we press once. We’ve got assistance number one. And then we’ve got assistance number two and assistance number three. Now that will take 16.5 miles per hour before the motor and then you’re on your own. But the assistance is for UK specific 15.5 miles an hour of assistance. And you can also turn the lights. If you if you hold the plus button down you’ll notice the light come up. You see that there come off. So that’s the headlight just come on there and if I hold it down again the headlight will go on. So that’s pretty much I’ll just show you the rear light. Let’s have a look. Come around the back. Can you see we’ve got a rear light here. Now this light here is not press. Sorry Mr. connected to to the the main battery. So there you go. Right, this is the fun part. Now I the first thing I’m going to do is I’m going to fold the pedals in because it’s got So let’s fold the pedals in. Put the kickstand up. First thing we’re going to do is We can do that together. The main part of the frame, like I say, it’s got a safety lock on it, so it’s not going to come apart when you’re riding it. And what we’ll do is we’ll bring that round on this. I’ve had a bit of a practice with honest. I suppose to unlock the handle and the handle. And there you go. It is now there. I mean, look at that. Now, look at that. You can fit that quite easily into a car boot. In fact, I’m going to show you now me putting this into a car boot. Check this out. Okay, so I’ve got the bike all folded up and we’re going to try to get it into the back of this car. It’s a hatchback, not a but it’s a small car. Let’s see how easily this bike is folded up. Okay, here we go. I don’t think And it was a bit of a pain. stand. What you need to do, you need to make sure that the seat that you can put your leg straight down. Can you see that? There are many In today’s video, we’re going to be taking this folding fat tire ebike on a trail only range test. This is not going to be another cookie cutter range test where I carelessly drain the battery to zero in an unpractical attempt to give you a number. Instead, I’m going to give you no situations for somebody who actually cares about the longevity of their bike. Although the trail ride in this is not something I would consider to be pushing the bike to its limits. It’s certainly something we’re going to do every day. However, we’re going to practice some techniques that won’t stress the battery or motor, you could expect to repeat this many times. If you’re new to electric bikes or considering getting one, there’s some important information in this video that you should consider. These electric bikes are unique and there’s a special way you can take care of them to get them to last a very long time. Now, I’m by no means an expert on electric bikes, but the community is a wealth of information that I’ve gathered, and I also have years of experience working with lithium ion batteries, which is what’s used to power most, if not all electric. The bike we’ll be riding today is the Orion from WTVA bikes. WTVA did send us this bike for testing and to make some creative videos on. This will not affect our opinions, and we will be addressing some concerns we had in our previous video. During the trip, I estimate that we used about pedal assist and then I occasionally took the brake on. Now, I chose to use a trail simply to take advantage of the fat tires on this bike. Admittedly, I could have gotten considerably more range on smooth streets, but if you purchased a fat tire bike, you probably had something like this in mind. I won’t spoil whether or not we made it back with power, but our plan trip was 15 miles out on trail only and then 15 miles back, plus an additional 2 miles to get from the house to the trail. You can count that if you like. During the ride, I’ll explain why I came to this exact distance, but I’ll also provide you with a chart that will help you out because it certainly helped me. So, let’s go ahead and jump into it. Before we get to the ride though, I would like to address some concerns I had about the bike in my first impressions video linked below. The only modification I made to the P settings on this bike is I adjusted the wheel size. Out of the box, it was reading about 2 mph fast, so I matched it up with my GPS. I did this right away so that I could have an accurate odometer. and including today’s adventure. We currently have 160 miles on the odometer. So far, the bike’s been a little tank. Now, I don’t abuse my bike, but I do put him through situations that most of you probably won’t. So far, the only issue I’ve had with the bike is that the headlight stopped working. I could have probably reached out to WTVA to get a new one, but honestly, the one that comes with the bike is pretty weak. I only find it useful at pedal assist level two, which is 12 mph. Beyond that, it’s just not bright enough to trust going any faster. So, because I planned on upgrading it anyways, not a big deal. The bike is certainly sturdy, so I wasn’t concerned about its integrity. However, I was concerned about the potential water exposure to the speed controller. It’s mounted in an exposed location, and as far as I could tell at first, there’s no waterproofing on this compartment. However, I was pleasantly surprised to open it up and find out that not only is the speed controller at the very least water resistant silicone around the wires and the silicone seal on the edges, but there is a drain hole at the bottom of this compartment so that if water does get in, it should slowly make its way out. I was glad that I checked because we found some issues. This compartment is small for the controller and all the wires that need to go in here. And it turns out they were rubbing up against the sidewalls and slowly eating away at the insulation. Now, I addressed this issue in my own way. But keep in mind, this was only at about 130 m before we went on the adventure, and this amount of damage could have certainly caused a catastrophic issue down the road. To help better protect the wires, I smoothed out any rough edges that they might catch on. And I added a bit of rubber between the speed controller and the wall of the compartment. After that task was complete, I wanted to address a little bit of noise that this bike was making. Some of the main cables run through these large loops. This was causing excessive rattling that bothering me. But I’m also glad that I checked this as well because it looks like some of the rubbing was getting into the insulation here as well. I used this bike mostly for short trips to and from work, but I have given it a handful of full throttle runs just for fun. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the XT60 connector showed no signs of heat damage. It came apart quite easily, but had enough resistance not to rattle itself loose. And the motor wire also same situation. No signs of heat damage. Our trip starts right around sunrise. In proper Louisiana fashion, we’re in the low 90s for today’s ride with our expected humidity around 80%. It’s going to be hot. For our relaxed style of riding, these temperatures won’t affect the speed control of the motor, but they can actually give you a slight boost in your batteries performance, but it’s never a good idea to keep one of these lithium ion batteries at full charge during hot temperatures. Because we’re using the batteries power right away, this won’t affect us. But I do want to emphasis on how important it is not to store one of these lithium-ion batteries in a vehicle on a hot day. As these high temperatures can push the batteries voltage past its critical threshold and cause severe damage, if not worse. You can’t keep me from my train. I will find a way to All right. So, begin our journey. Used a tiny bit of pedal assist to get here, but nothing consequential. So, for this really, we’re just going to use pedal assist one. Go through here pretty slow because this is really rough gravel. I don’t like taking any of the other bikes on this, but this is fat tire, so it should be nice. Once we get past this, which I think is two miles, we’ll go ahead and kick up the speed a little bit. helmet today simply because it’s going to be really hot. I’m going to be on a trail the whole time, not dealing with traffic. This is a pretty flat, wellkept trail and I’m not pushing high speeds. That is some loose gra. I know I can be a bit of a broken record, but I absolutely love the sound of rubber over rock. The camera actually doesn’t do it justice. This gravel is a lot looser than it looks. If you’ve ever tried to ride next to a railroad track, this is basically the same thing without the tracks, as that’s what this used to be. Everyone’s choice of riding style is going to be different. But for me, when it comes to electric bikes, I like to help the motor whenever I can to extend the range, but I do have one rule for today’s trip. I have to stay as comfortable as possible. Essentially taking advantage of this actually being an electric bike. I’m not allowed to break a sweat. Um, this type of trail is really going to suck up our mileage, on electric. They really shine on smooth, flat roads. They’re really efficient. This is going to be 100% trail ride. Right now, I’m pretty much just in sand. Pedaling in this stuff is going to make a big any mileage. I can’t wait till they finish this trail. [Music] Definitely don’t want to fall down there. But in case any of you guys are wondering, this is what we’re on. Just over 60 miles if you do the whole thing. When uh this section finish, I think that’ll bump it up to 65. old railroad marker. I’m going to assume that just means that it crosses a road. Took me about two and a half miles to remember. I’m on a fat tire bike and I don’t have to ride on that gravel if I don’t want to. Although the side of the trail is not much better. The pine needles give a bit of cushion. Nice little improvement. All the silent treatment we gave it. I hear very very few things rattling on the bike. I don’t know. Coming up on the fort, we stay right for the trail and left might someday be another part of the trail. I’m not sure, but I think it’s private land. I think that says yard limit. Maybe there was a sawmill here or Corey or something. I don’t know. So many of our great adventures have be and ended right here. And at 12 miles an hour, I’ve got a nice breeze. I feel like I can still maneuver if an unexpected obstacle shows up. It’s just fast enough to enjoy, but slow enough to be aware of your surroundings and react. Your table please.
