Valtinsu EM22 OFF-ROAD! | EM5 Gets New Mods + Size Comparison (Part 2)
All right, welcome back everybody. I’m in the Mr. Central driver garage. You can see all the bikes are laid out. We got new bikes. We got another bike behind me right here. We did some upgrades to the Valenzu bike that I want to show you and also some upgrades that didn’t unfortunately work out. So, you guys know not what to buy and weighs $200 like I did. You can see we got a Mac Fox bike right here. This thing is beefy. Kind of reminds me of a Super 73. Then we got the G70 Pro. The G70 was a great bike. Now they added two motors. So, this is going to be pretty fun to review, but I still got to unbox it, put it together. But you guys are here for the Valtzu bikes, and uh we’re going to get into it right now. So, first and foremost is going to be the size comparison. This was a very commonly asked question on my channel is what is the difference in size if I was looking at getting the EM22, which is on the left, or the EM5, which is on the right. And yes, it is a huge difference, but however, the seat height is probably about the same. The EM22 is maybe ever so slightly higher, but because it has that rake that kind of slopes down in the middle, it really feels like a very low and comfortable bike to ride. It obviously feels like a much bigger bike. Of course, it is longer in every way. But the Valenzu EM5 is probably still my favorite over the EM22 because the EM22, I did all my research. I messaged Hobbywing, did not get a response. The controller that’s in here is a Hobbywing and there’s no information on it. found out that you can connect to Bluetooth using an app. However, it is locked down. It will not let you change any of the settings. And I heard this is the same controller that is in the EM23 if I’m not mistaken. And they have that one tuned up a little bit more. This should definitely hit at least 45 mph and it doesn’t. So, the only way we’re getting any more speed out of it is putting a far driver controller on the bike. And that’s what I plan to do. I’m just waiting for the parts to come in cuz this is a stock one off the EM5. So, the one that I put on the EM5 is 100 amps. Now, we’re not going to be able to get 100 amps out of the EM22 because the battery is limited to, I believe, 60, maybe 70 amps. We’re going to push as much as possible, but once that controller is in, it should go faster than the EM5 for sure. Now, let me grab my Suron and put it next to the EM22. And I got to say, they are very similar in size. Obviously, my Suron is modified with a big seat and a big battery and super motos, but for the most part, you can see the size difference is not that much different. I think if you were a shorter rider, the Valtenzu is going to be the bike to buy, especially with the price of the Suron being probably over $4,000 now. You can’t go wrong with the Valtenzu as long as you plan on upgrading it because obviously it tops out at 37 m an hour, which the Suron would go faster. All right, here we go, ladies and gentlemen. First time taking this off-road. Now, the speed and power of this is definitely better than the EM5 right out of the box. If you’re not planning on doing any type of modifications to any one of these bikes, however, the power of this thing feels a little underwhelming for 60bolt. It almost kind of reminds me of like a hub motor ebike where it’s really nice and quiet because you notice, woo, it’s pretty comfortable actually. It really is a a quiet bike compared to the EM5. This is a fantastic bike. And I was expecting the power to keep going. I wasn’t paying attention to the speed and right at 37, I just felt it lunge and stop. So, this thing definitely has way more power out of it. We just got to change out the controller. But off-road, okay, I just did a big pothole right there. It was a little jarring. The seat isn’t, I would say, as soft as the EM5. I think the EM5 seat is a little bit better. And if you guys have the EM5 and you think that’s a bad seat, then well, this is a lot worse than that. Um, the seating position I absolutely love compared to the EM5. It obviously feels a little bit bigger for a person that’s 5’9. So, I got that going for me. But, uh, it’s not that big of a difference. I can definitely tell this is a, uh, heavier bike and more of the weights up top compared to the EM5. Really feels like it’s really center gravity. It’s really low to the ground. And it feels actually a lot more funner than this thing. I hate to say that because this is like the bigger brother, the EM5, and a lot of people are interested in this thing, but like the price is significantly a lot more unless you pick it up at the LA warehouse and it’s like 990 bucks. But if you get it shipped from China, it’s still expensive. It’s like 1,300 or somewhere around there. But if you want it shipped from the LA warehouse to your door, you’re paying like 15, I think it’s $1,600 using my discount code. All right, let’s go run it back real quick. Now, the one thing I actually do hate about this bike is the 0 to2 mph. It has a delay in the throttle. It doesn’t have it when you’re rolling. It’s perfectly fine. But that initial takeoff speed, for some reason, it has a hesitation from 0 to 2 mph. Then once it feels like it’s moving, it’s like, “Okay, let’s go.” I don’t like that. We definitely need a controller upgrade. But, uh, off-road, I got to say, this thing is, uh, not as comfortable as the EM5. This is definitely a little bit more harsher of a ride, I got to say. I don’t know if it’s suspension or this a seat. I’m not sure. It’s one of the two. Now, of course, I can make this thing a little tiny bit more comfortable if I air the tires down because they are kind of aired up for riding on the road, and I didn’t want to air them down just to come out here for a quick like four or five minute video. So, it could get a little bit better, but um the EM5 tires are still aired up the max that I have them for street riding and off-road. And again, I think the EM5 is more comfortable. So, let’s head back to the house and mess with the EM5. So, now that we’re back in the garage, I took a day the other day when I got off of work and decided to replace the whole ignition with a voltmeter and get a three mode button that actually legit works. The only bad thing is we do not have a display for this bike anymore, but I always put my phone up here for the GPS and all that kind of fun stuff. So, I’m okay not having a display. What’s nice about this whole setup though is we got a nice smooth throttle. It is way better than factory. And these grips, hands down, much better. These are the A360, I believe. Yeah, they feel really good. They’re from Domino. They do have the Domino logos on this side. And they feel really good in the hand. Trust me, guys. These are a huge step up from the grips that were on here. I just love the fact that this also feels upgraded, too. This feels real nice and strong. This doesn’t feel cheap. Even though it wasn’t expensive, it is a cheap part, but it definitely feels a lot more premium than this. this feel a little flimsy and whatnot. So, this is a nice upgrade. Also, the fact that on the last video when we did do the controller swap, we had the error code and we had no mode buttons anymore. Now, I do. So, one is low, two is middle, and three is high mode. So, I’m glad I have all my modes back on this bike. So, obviously, that is all the good stuff about this bike, but there was a lot more I was planning on doing on today’s video, and then it just didn’t work out. And let me show you the bad stuff that you shouldn’t buy because it doesn’t fit. This is a controller. And I’ve been getting all my controllers from Econic because they have them in stock. Now, you can get all of these on AliExpress, Alibaba. You can get them a lot cheaper that way, but it’s also going to take 30 to 60 days to arrive. And they have mostly 90% of all this stuff in stock. So, highly recommend going to them. I also have discount codes for them as well. Helps the channel. But this is a ND72 360 controller. Now, the controller that’s on the EM5 right now is a 300 controller. This is a 360. This was going to give us 190 amps of power. And the battery that I have in here is from a morg. And this is a 72vt and it goes up to about 200 or 220 amps. So, we would have been able to push all the power out of that. But, however, the brackets do not match up. They’re not the same size controller. What I mean by the brackets not matching up, see these uh bolts right here? Now, I’m not going to take this off all over again, but it lines up from here down to here, but that controller is wider. So the bolts actually end up right here. And it just wouldn’t work to mount it on all four points. I could do two points and then I could take these bolts out and I can make it fit if I have like a strap or something like that. But I just figured it wasn’t worth it to ghetto rig it. So personally to me, if you guys are going to put a far driver controller in here, get the 300. It’s the ND72300. It will fit perfectly in the same exact location as a stock one and you won’t have any issues once you change over all the ignition, the throttle, and the three mode buttons. Now, what I want to get done is I have a chain right here that I bought, and this is from Amazon, so I’ll give you the links down in the description. It also comes with some lubricant oil. This chain looks really beefy. It’s a gold chain. I’m hoping it’s going to quiet this bike down and sound more like the EM22. Hopefully, I don’t know. We’ll see what happens. But for the most part, I want to get this chain on. And then I want to take all these logos off the bike cuz I’m tired of looking at all these orange logos. So, we’re going to take that off. Let me get to work and I’ll update you guys when I’m done. Here she is, guys, with all the logos taken off. We got the gold chain on there. Now, I am going to put the correct link in the description for the gold chain, but keep in mind this chain right here was 114 links. I actually needed 116. So, I had to steal one for my 2T over there. The 2T’s down cuz it has a flat and everything like that. So hopefully we could ride that soon because that thing is a beast. You think this thing’s fast? My 2T is definitely fast. And that thing probably has about maybe 2500 into it. That’s including the bike and everything. And that thing is just a rocket. But I got to say, taking off everything on this bike, other than the blue grips, they don’t really match anything anymore. But uh I got to say, uh it looks really good in my opinion, especially with all those logos taken off. I do have to take off this one still, too. too. I got to get a little pick and grab it cuz there’s no way to take this little film off. I thought it was uh designed like that, but it’s not. It’s a protective film on the key. But yeah, this is a badass looking bike. And uh let’s see if we can possibly do a little rain ride real quick for about 1 minute. 2 hours later. All right, guys. We are out here on the bike. Let’s get this bad boy turned on. Now, you can see our voltmeter right here, which is super bright. It’s hella bright. I can see everything. And I knew a car was coming behind me. All right, so we got to start this test. We’re going to see if this chain sounds any different from after installing it. And also, I want to give you guys my opinion on the throttle and everything like that because it’s so smooth. Woo! It’s still wet out here, folks. Woo! Oh my god, this does seem quieter. Now, it’s still decently loud. It’s not quiet. It’s not like the EM22 is. The EM22 is quiet, man. But I gotta say, this thing sounds better. It definitely does. And keep in mind, I had to take two links off of the Tuttio. So, two of the links on here aren’t O-rings. So, keep that in mind. So, that could be adding a little bit of noise as well. And I’m just getting blasted by water. So, we’re not going to be out here very long, folks. And I apologize if water gets on the GoPro. It’s just weird that it rained in California when it’s super super hot out. Here we go, baby. Woo! Dude, I love doing these pulls now and checking out my voltage off to the side right here. That is so sick. So, I guess it comes to my conclusion about the chain. Then, yes, if you get an O-ring chain, it does have a little bit of resistance, but I mean, for the most part, that’s a nice upgrade. Definitely a very nice upgrade over the noise that it sounded like stock with the stock chain on. The stock chain is garbage. Let’s be real, the stock chain is way smaller than the chain that I just put on. Keep in mind, this is a huge difference. Next I want to talk about real quick is the throttle. This throttle has absolutely has been a gamecher on this bike. It feels so much more smooth. I obviously went into the settings after you do all this. Keep in mind $65 using my coupon code on Econics website to get the voltage reading, the throttle, you get the grips, and you get the button layout over here for the modes for 1, two, three. So this is only if you replace your controller. This will not plug and play to the stock controller. Keep in mind, I know a lot of people are going to be wondering that, and trust me, it is not for the stock controller because the way they wired the stock controller up, it’s weird. That’s why we have so many error codes and everything. Now, we’re using the actual harness that came on our 100 amp controller. So, obviously, of course, the throttle is going to help tremendously just with the power output and just feeling more smoother in general. But the grips are also a game changer, too. The stock grips aren’t great. They’re not great at all. If you get an RTR, you’ll understand the difference between the grips on the RTR and this one. These grips feel really good. I feel like I am planted. I feel like my hands aren’t going to slip off whatsoever. I don’t even have gloves on and they still feel comfortable. The grips alone are a huge up upgrade for sure. I can’t even talk right now cuz I’m trying to concentrate and slide down this road while it’s super slippery and wet right now. Probably shouldn’t be riding like this at all. That car kind of scared me on the right hand side. There’s still a lot of people out here right now. You got here first, buddy. You can go. So, I need you guys to do me a huge favor. Seriously, drop a comment if you think this bike sounds quieter than it did before. Because to me, personally, it does. But you guys got to go back on part five, listen to the bike, or maybe you’ve been following this whole entire series and you’ve been watching video after video and got to this video and you’re like, “Yeah, that’s a huge difference.” If so, please drop a comment. I’m really curious to know. Regardless if it’s maybe not as quiet as you think it should be, this is still a way better change. So, definitely check the links in the description for this. Guys, I’m still trying to figure out what we’re going to do next to this bike. I mean, I think we’ve taken it so far that I mean, to me, it’s perfect. The only thing I’m missing is a display. I would love to have a display, but that’s the only thing. And maybe some black wheels or something. I don’t know. But I mean, this is way more powerful than my RTR light. Even with the 72volt battery in here, this thing is real responsive. I mean, it just feels so good. And all in all, guys, the last time we did an update on the whole price, including the bike and the parts, we were at $1,800. Now that I added this right here and the button layout for the modes for one, two, and three, that was only 65 bucks. That still keeps us under $1,900 or under $2,000 in general because the bike did go up a little bit. $2,000 for this is absolutely insane. All right, let’s do a little pull real quick. We’re in mode number three. We have 79 or actually no, we have 80 volts. So, we only went down 4 volts. It technically went up to about 83.7 volts and that’s perfectly fine cuz anything over 84 volts is very bad on your battery cell. So, this battery is fully healthy. We only have probably 100 miles on this battery. So, check it out. Here we go. 1 2 3. Oh, we’re moving. Oh, we are definitely hauling ass. Going way too fast. Way too fast. Got that butterfly like feeling, you know, in my stomach, man. It’s just because it’s really wet out here. Not because the bike’s fast or anything or I built a freaking monster. Can we do a burnout? Oh, yeah. We can. Oh, dang. Oh, dang. Been doing little burnouts. Woo. All right, guys. I’ll see you in the next one when we uh decide to put a controller on the EM22. That’s most likely going to be the next video other than the other bikes you saw in my garage that I got to review. So, hopefully you guys are looking forward to all the content. Smash a like if you guys enjoyed the video, and I’ll see you guys in the next one. Deuces. All right, let’s get this thing disassembled. New controller coming in soon.
