This is my 1974 C30 dually this truck means the world to me it was my great uncles who passed away 8 years ago. It spent 25 years tucked away in my uncles shop needing work it had a blown tranny and many other issues he loved this truck and drove it forever but when it broke down he parked her and never got around to fixing it so when he passes I picked it up and fixed her. I’ve owned it for about 6 years and usually daily drive it. The last couple years some rust spots and paint bubbles started popping up. I know the truck has some pretty bad bondo work done as well. I own a big shop and a lot of tools I’m a quick learner and can do about anything I have a mig and a tug welder as well. My question is how would you address these issues. I know a few spots are gonna need cut out and replaced. I want to take my time redoing the body work and do everything right and then eventually paint it myself. Would taking this down to bare metal be a good idea or just mainly the rust spots that need it and then do a light sand on the rest and then spray it?
