Electric News Highlights – VW shows Ads in ID cars

Uh it started in the Netherlands and now it has expanded in Sweden, Germany, the UK, France, and Belgium. You can now use the Tesla Multipass as well. What is it? You can charge with your Tesla key card at other charging stations. The price you can see in your display of your Tesla. It’s different for every network. Sometimes even for for every charger. So you have to check before the prices are usually when you charge at a different network with a different charging provider a bit more expensive but you can you don’t need an extra app or anything if you are somewhere and there’s no Tesla supercharger around a thousand charging networks are supported lowers prices if you don’t know EMW in Germany and Austria they are the biggest charging provider in this country they have the most stalls when it comes to high power chargers, more than Tesla, more than Ionity. Uh this I think the second is Adal Pulse. Um and they are because they’re the biggest in Germany of course have something to do with the prices and from December 1st on they are lowering their prices only by 3 cent. That’s not gigantic, but still it’s a sign that it’s going down. It most likely has to do with the special incentives, CO2 incentives in 2026 where because they are providing charges, they get a bit of CO2 incentives and this they can put then on the price and that’s why 3 cent cheaper. But that’s not all. Uh also the base price if you get to the more cheaper version. So if you you buy monthly a package and then you can charge cheaper. um one is getting way cheaper the most one where you still pay 39 cent per kilowatt hour but the monthly price went goes down from $17.99 to $11.99 by coincidence this is the same price that what Tesla wants if you are a premium member and Ionity H Kia EV4 maybe not for the United States the EV4 was planned to be a competitor to the Tesla Model 3 in the United states. But now because of tariffs and other things that are going on in the United States, Kia has stopped the plans to put the Kia EV4 into uh the United States. It’s uh indefinitely so far. So it’s maybe not happening, which is very sad. It looks like a very very interesting car. It looks like it’s going to be consumptionwise pretty good. It’s not 800 volt battery system. It’s 400 volt but also affordable. So very sad for the United States or North America, but the European market is still getting it. And I can’t wait to test the car. Kia so far said they don’t have a press car for me to test. Let’s stay with Kia. The PB5 has driven 700 km on one charge. It wasn’t a range test or anything special. This was the cargo version and also filled up with stuff. 665 kg of stuff was in the back and they did in Germany in Frankfurt they did normal what they think is normal delivery routes if you have this cargo version and you use it for a business and with the 71 kWh version they achieved in 22 1/2 hours 693 km which which is pretty good when you consider that they have a lot of stuff in there but of course I’m pretty sure when they did the delivery drive They took stuff out. The 660 kgs were in there, which is, by the way, the most that you can put in, uh, was taken out step by step, I’m pretty sure. But still very good. They even got a Guinness World Record for that. German EV deliveries in October 2025. On number one is the Scoda Edro with the most delivered cars in October. That is amazing. all over. In October, over 52,000 EVs were delivered and that’s 21% of this month. The rest was then hybrid and diesel and gasoline, but EVs 21%. That’s really amazing. That’s also 48% more than last year’s October. So cool. Under the first 10 cars, there are se seven cars that are from the MEB platform. Um, the Tesla Model Y is not under the first 10. In 2025, altogether, the most delivered cars so far was the Volkswagen ID7, followed by the ID3 and the ID4/5. New Renault Twingo EV. I’ve driven the previous version and I stranded because the battery just went out without warning. That was awesome on the highway. Um, but now now there’s a new version. And it has a 27 1/2 kWh LFP battery. 263 km WLTP range. 60 kW frontwheel drive motor. That’s 82 horsepower. 0 to 100 km an hour. Takes 12 seconds. That’s the stuff. Can charge only with AC and only 11 kW. BMW i3 confirmed. from BMW confirmed that the i3 is in the making and we have seen already a a few prototype pictures and it’s not uh the i3 that it was before. So small car and weird looking. It’s like an 3 series of BMW but electric version. And it will like the i3B the noi classic EV so 800vt battery system very efficient motors and everything. It will be even more efficient than the SUV version. So the iX3. So it will be a big big thing. Very very interesting. Production should start in the second half of 2026. Volkswagen shows ads in their screens. I experienced this myself in the ID4 GTX that I had uh two weeks ago. I did my long distance test and I was I think at low state of charge 15% or something and then I got an ad advertising if I don’t want to charge at Cowfl which is a grocery store and they also have uh charging charges there but usually only 50 kW charges so nothing special and I was okay. I just said no. And then I read the article that this happens now more often. It had ID software 5.4 four on on the car that I have right now, the ID4 Pro. I didn’t have that yet, but I also did not do my longd distance test yet. And you can turn this off so you can tell Folkswagen you don’t want that anymore. I don’t know how and where and and where, but it’s a bit again weird. And for charging, you can be okay. That’s okay. But other people have seen advertising for a coffee on sale at a grocery store, and that’s just a nogo. No. No, no, no. You can’t do that. That’s That’s weird. Bit of news about the channel. Like I said, right now I have the ID5 Pro and I had the GTX 2 weeks ago. So, I compare them a bit when it comes to range, long distance driving and what it feels like to drive, especially since this car now has 19in winter tires on and the GTX had 21in summer tires on.
