Luckeep M5 Max Electric Bike Night Ride & Updated Range Test | Real-World Performance Review

All right, guys. We are back with part number two with the Leip M5 Max. And I had a blast on the last ride, and I had to go back on the last video and see where we last left off at. And we’re at 10.8 mi. So, we’re basically going to finish this trip and see what type of range we get on this bike. And I’m not going to bore you guys so much, but there’s a few things I want to show you before we take off for the ride. And that is everything that comes in the box. Now, I never showed you guys the charger. It’s decently small. It’s not heavy. You can fit in your backpack. It’s 3 amps. if you want to know what the charge rate is. And what’s cool about this is because you have this little storage unit right here, even if you put the extra battery right here, it only stops right there. So, you can still put the charger in this basket. So, if you know you’re going to go ride with your buddies, go to a group ride and go charge it somewhere when you get to the location. That is pretty sweet. The next thing in here are the two keys. And you don’t need these keys to activate the bike at all. These are just the keys to unlock this. So, you flip this little thing over, use the key, pop this lid up, and that’s where you charge the battery. There is no charge port on the outside of the battery. I thought that would have been nice. But just keep in mind if you’re going somewhere, you’re going to have to carry these somewhere with you. Or what I like to do is just hang them somewhere on one of these cords, but just make sure you take it off if you do leave your bike unattended. Below that is a full users guide on this display right here. So, it’s nice that it’s going to tell you basically everything you need to know, error code, stuff like that, or how to work the display. And then you get the manual. And I got to say, this is one of the nicer manuals that I’ve seen. So, if you go through here, look, it shows you pictures of everything. So, if you’re a picture person like I am, it’s a very well put together manual to put this bike together. And last but not least are basically all the tools you need to put this together. However, I would suggest having your own tools because these are a little cheap and they do strip out easy. Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t subscribed already. So, now that you know that, now we can get out there and ride. All right, we’re out here, guys. It’s pitch black in this area. Kind of lit up over here. We’re going to do a little bit of riding. I don’t want to hold you guys up too much in this video. We’re going to make it super short just to basically check out the lights. And if you guys didn’t know, this is a full night video. I’m sitting at 76%, but when I do get on the power, I’m going down to like 40 something%. We’re going to try to get as far as we can down on this battery. This mileage is almost pretty accurate. We’re actually sitting at about 11 miles right now. So, we got to add 11 miles to whatever we put on right now. I’ve already went 04 so far. But anyways, let’s check out this headlight when I make a U-turn cuz it’s super dark back here. So, here we go. Check this thing out. This is a bad ass headlight, man. This is shining. It might even be too high right now to be straight up honest with you. If I were to load her a little bit, that looks a little better. But you know what? I actually had it almost pretty accurate. So, I would like to see super far than closer to me. That is awesome. If I had to turn it off, that’s what you see. That display is really bright as well, too. So, I think we’re going to turn that display down so you guys see a little bit better. It’s super simple to do. Just hold the plus and minus button or the up and down arrow and then it’s this very first one right here. So go to P 01. It’s on two right now. It should go up to three. Okay. Yeah. So it goes up to three and the highest. But we’re going to go down to one. That should be a little bit better for you guys. Look at this nice stretch of road we have though. Just out here by ourselves. Just finished dinner. Just wanted to come out here and enjoy how wonderful the weather is out here because it has been over 95° the last couple weeks. We just got back from vacation if you guys didn’t know. And this actually feels just as where we were at. We were in Pismo. And since I’m shooting so late at night right now, this feels absolutely awesome. And uh the reason why I decided to stay on this road really quick, I wanted to see what our top speed is after doing roughly about 11 1/2 miles. And these people have their high beams on. There’s something this Okay, they turn them off. But there’s something that this uh bike doesn’t have. You don’t have a high beam. You just have one main beam. But I got to say that beam is absolutely fantastic. It is a very badass headlight. And uh our top speed, I’ve been holding it for about a mile now and it doesn’t seem like it’s getting any better. It looks like it’s holding about 31 mph. So we have lost a little bit of speed. I think we should take a shortcut over here. Yeah, let’s take a shortcut. This used to be a dead end. Hopefully it’s not a dead end anymore. Oh yeah, it keeps going. Okay, wait. It goes into the dirt. Okay, it might actually still be a dead end. I guess this gives you guys a good look at it because I got to see where all the holes are at and the ditches and everything like that and pay attention to all these bumps. So, this is actually a really good test to see how this headlight performs. I honestly I can see every damn thing out here. It’s absolutely amazing. It’s not the widest headlight I’ve ever seen, but it is wide enough. This is going to get a 9 out of 10 in Mr. Central Driver’s book. This is a fantastic headlight. And I guess since we’re out here, we can check out how the brake light looks. Oh Okay, I think the kickstand needs to be adjusted a little bit because the bike almost completely fell over. It must be uneven right here cuz this bike’s kickstand leans really far over, but it is adjustable on the bottom. So, it just needs to be extended a little bit. But, all right, here we go. Walking away from it. I’m probably like 10 ft away. It’s not a very bright brake light. Like, if I get lower, I don’t know what you guys think about that. It’s really not that bright. If they were to keep their logo out of the middle of it, it would have gave it a little bit of clarity and a little bit more brighter, I guess. But because they have their logo right there, check that out. It does light up. It does get brighter. Look at my hand. But not the best. Can we go this way? Because I want to go this way. Whoa. I figured we’d ride a little bit longer until I show you guys the turn signals on the back of this bike, just because I am really trying to run this battery down as much as possible because I ride so many bikes and the power of this thing being 1500 watts nominal and like 2,000 watts peak, which technically feels about 1,000 watts as the battery starts going down a little bit. Maybe it feels like 1,200 watts max to me. Um, I feel like I’ll get about 22 to 24 miles out of this battery. I guess one thing we should be paying attention to is obviously we lost one more mile per hour again. But um I need to switch this over to voltage. You have a voltage reading on the display. Something I really want to pay attention to right now because we’re draining the battery. So we’re at 50.3 volts, but now that I got back in the power fully, I’m down to 48.1 volts. And if you guys know about a 52vt ebike, you can go down to 42 volts. But realistically, once you start hitting about 44, you might want to be right by the house. What is over here? Should we adventure over here? Oh. Oh, that is bumpy. Oh, that is bumpy. I got to remember how we got in here because uh this is all like gated and stuff like that. All right. I thought that was someone’s head for a second. Scared the crap out of me. Yeah, it’s just way too pitch black out here to be able to see anything. And security is probably going to come any second. So, uh, I don’t want to go too far. There’s only one exit to get out of here. So, we’re going to backtrack it. Oh, see, I already messed up. I got to see if we can fit through here. Okay. Well, we made it. Can’t believe that bike made it through that little hole. I mean, I kind of moved it out of the way a little bit, but All right. Here’s a school that they’re making. And it makes sense that they’re having it completely blocked off cuz, you know, people would probably just vandalize it and mess it up. You could technically just hop over if you wanted to, but I kind of just wanted to ride my bike through it and check it out, but it’s not going to happen on today’s video. Maybe if you can get through from this side, that’d be kind of cool. Wo! Thought that was a dead body. That’s just a Halloween prop. Man, this thing is gated all the way around. There is just no entrance whatsoever. I thought there was one right there, but there isn’t. So, so real quick guys, while we’re out here in a pitch black field, let me show you guys a turn signal. Let me know if you guys see that. I’m probably 7 ft away. This is probably about like 10 ft away. And uh this is probably like pushing 20 ft right here. I can’t see that, but it does get better when I do look at it at an angle. Let me know if you guys see what I’m seeing, but it’s really hard to see, especially with the GoPro being so wide and everything like that. But check it out. When I get closer, you guys can get an idea of that. I’ll even get closer. This is right on it about 1 ft away. So you guys can see obviously I can touch it. It’s not very bright. It’s super dim to me. It looks like it has like a smoke tint on the tail light or something like that. What I do like about the setup, and this is kind of going off of talking about the brake light, the license plate bracket right here I love because you can get one of those cool ones on Amazon that are really short and you can put like a custom logo on there or YouTube channel or just your personal name, you know, just make it cool. If I had to give you guys a suggestion, I would say LOL gas. All right, back over this. My god, this is bumpy. I love this bike and it really is comfortable. Oh, what the heck? This is the street I normally take to get back. Well, this is an easy detour around that right there. That didn’t really do much. But anyways, where was I? So, I really think this is a great bike for the streets. It’s pretty comfortable. I do have these tires aired up a little high. I mean, they are still at the recommended where they need to be, but you can always lower them to get a little bit more comfortable riding out of this bike depending on what you’re going to do. I highly suggest this bike not to buy it if you’re only doing off-road stuff and you’re going to be going up a lot of hills because this is not a hill climbing ebike. For some reason, it just doesn’t have the power. And after I shot my first video review, I started thinking to myself, I was like, “Okay, they said 37.5 mph.” And I’m like, “That makes sense if you probably have two batteries because the voltage sag isn’t going to be as bad.” So, and also, you probably need to be lighter than me. I’m 161 lb, 5’9″. I always say this in all my videos. There’s always a comment that says something like that. I fit the bike perfectly fine. My power has dramatically slowed down and we’re at 47.6 volts, 37%. How am I only going 24 miles an hour? What in the heck? Yeah, I don’t I don’t know what’s going on with that. That’s kind of unfortunate. I’m not a huge fan of bikes that cut power this early because I would still like to be hitting about 28 to 30 mph to kind of be a class 3 ebike. My goal anyways is just to try to run it down as much as possible. Obviously, if we had more speed to go, we’re going to kill it faster, but because it’s holding us back, the battery is going to take actually longer to discharge. So, the fact that I’m at 47.4 volts right now, or 47.5, I have 5.3 miles on today’s video, add that on to our 11, that’s putting us about like 16ish, about to go up to 17 soon. And it’s going to be a while until I get it down. Well, now it’s going 30 m an hour because we decided to go downhill, but then I had to slow down anyway because I just hit a turn. Well, I’ll update you guys cuz I’ll be real with you guys. I’m not trying to be out here for an hour to kill this battery. So, I’m going to go up and down the street a few times. Maybe try to get at least 10 miles on this bike, which then will add on to the 11 to give us roughly like I’m going to try to at least get over 20 m. So, I’ll update you guys when I get there. Oh jeez. Come on, bike. You can do it. All right, guys. Quick update. 8 1/2 miles down to 29% on at least this ride. Anyway, we still got to add, of course, 11 miles, but I mean, I’m barely going up a small hill and it’s only doing 16 17 miles. I’m losing speed, man. This turned into like a 250 to 500 watt ebike, man, after about 35%. What’s up, Elvis? Nobody. That was the security we ran into when we had the EM5. And as much as I want to say what’s up to him, I feel like I’ve been out here way too long because it’s just taking me forever to get back home. Because you guys see the edited version of this video, I’ve actually been out here for 52 minutes. Do you hear the bike ride now? Okay, so we just passed 9 miles, which means if we add on to the 11 miles from the previous day, we have over 20 miles on this bike. 27% went on the throttle, 46.7 volts. Honestly, you’re going to get 25 miles regardless out of this bike because it cuts your power after about 35%. That’s at least what I’m experiencing. If you do the throttle, it went up to 40%. Did you guys see that? Maybe you guys can’t see it. I’ll read it to you guys. It’s 38% on the display now. 39. So, this is under throttle that I’m seeing about 27ish%. And I’m barely moving. So, we’re calling it at that. If you guys do want more range out of this bike, all you got to do is spend an extra $500 and get the dual battery setup and you are guaranteed to get 50 mi of range if you were under 200 lb. And if you’re over 200 lb, then you know that’s probably a little different story, but it’s not going to be that dramatic. This bike can hold up to 400 lb. So, if you’re like 350 lb, then okay, maybe you’re only going to get like 40 mi with two batteries. But that’s my suggestion, guys. I love you and I’ll see you guys in the next one. This was a fun trip. And I got to say that’s going to wrap it up for the day, guys. I mean, this is now going to 21 miles to 47.8 volts. I don’t even have a voltage sag on this bike anymore because the power has dropped so much. So hopefully you guys like this video explaining everything. And yeah, again, I’ll see you in the next one, guys. Hopefully it’s an exciting one because we always have something new and cool on this channel. Is Elvis. Hey, what’s up, man? How are you? Good, man. Thought I’d come out. My bad. My bad. He was just here by himself, so I thought I’d stop by. I saw him earlier. Saw him, so I stopped by. Oh, okay. Yeah, that’s what I did, too. Another bike, huh? Yeah. Yeah. This one’s from Alibaba.
