Easy DIY – Replacing Your BMW Key Fob Battery | BMW How-To
Need to replace the battery in your BMW key fob? Here’s a quick and easy guide. Best of all, you don’t need to remove any key rings for this process.
The battery replacement is a single C-R-2-0-3-2 coin battery. These can be found at any general store or your favorite online retailer.
To open, press and hold the button here, and push the cover forward to remove the outer housing half.
The vehicle can be locked and unlocked manually using the integrated key if needed.
Using your fingers, or a small flathead screwdriver, gently pull out the tab to remove the battery holder.
Insert the new battery in the same position
Then slide the battery holder back into the fob.
Slide the outer housing on until you hear a click.
That’s it – You’re good to go!
