7 Best Value Plug-in Hybrid SUVs In 2025
These seven new hybrid plug-in SUVs are the best you can find in 2025, so let’s start with the least expensive….
2025 Kia Niro Hybrid – $28,365
A tiny but efficient SUV, the 2025 Kia Niro Hybrid is a great option for anyone who just needs a commute vehicle or a reliable day-by-day driver and anyone who’s not in a serious hurry. The Niro Hybrid has a 139-horsepower powertrain that has a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine and electric motor, but the more powerful Kia Niro PHEV reaches 180 horsepower with a more powerful electric engine. A Niro PHEV is capable of going from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 7.5 seconds, which isn’t anything to write home about but is impressive for the size and price tag. The Niro PHEV comes with an 11.1-kWh battery pack that will last roughly 33 miles and can be refilled in less than three hours. In terms of fuel economy, the Niro Hybrid is one of the best, rating 53 miles per gallon in the city and 54 on the highway. Despite these generally positive features, the 2025 Niro Hybrid does suffer some when it comes to space. For taller people and long legs, the Niro does feel a bit cramped, and the Niro PHEV model sacrifices some cargo space for the battery. Of course, not all of the interior features are a letdown. The Niro Hybrid’s base trim offers an 8-inch touchscreen, with a larger 10.3-inch version included in other models. Along with this, the Niro features a six-speaker stereo, making sure that you have plenty of music to listen to while you’re doing your daily city driving. While the 2025 Kia Niro Hybrid isn’t particularly stand out in terms of features and technology, the extremely reasonable price tag of $28,365 makes it worth it.
