    Ummm… what’s the big deal? Australia has had a solar challenge for 37 years. Converted to American units, because…. 1,878 miles in 4 to 5 days. Speed limit is 80mph in Northern Territory, although the vehicles can easily exceed this, 68mph in South Australia. Average speeds across the 1878 miles for the winners are above 55 mph.

    Not bad, 24wh/mi (15wh/km) is almost on par with World’s Solar Challengers, although they run almost twice as fast. A good chunk of your improvement is aero and bespoke solar arrays. Also goes to show how accessible the tech is these days!
