TL;DR: Malibu sales are down ~35% in the last decade, and they’re gonna’ use the Malibu plant in Kansas to make the Bolt and Cadillac XT4.

The Malibu isn’t exactly a great vehicle, but it’s disappointing that they’re discontinuing the last sedan in the Chevrolet line-up. Only SUVs and trucks from here on.
Can they still claim that consumers prefer SUVs when we don’t have a choice in the matter?

The Malibu would have been a great 3rd generation Volt when they retired the Cruze. A true 5 seater, 50 mile range, 50 mpg.

They were still making a sedan? I thought they quit a while ago alon with ford.

Shold have said “GM will reture Malibu because no one wants old person sedans any more”. .

Well, that did take them too long./s

I am so tired of all the manufacturers and their halting sales of sedans. It seems like my only choices for domestic vehicles are 2-ton SUVs and trucks.
I’m tired. I just want a decent, low cost sedan that is reasonably comfortable.
The Bolt coming back is good news.

RIP, but at least it seems like GM is still following through on their plans to produce more electric models as other companies are pulling back.

We need to just retire government motors, and Fiat. Lets make the big three ford tesla and rivian lol

We Americans love our big fat gas guzzling SUV & trucks. Planet be damned.
spin_kick
How about actually making these electric cars instead of announcing 300 different electric models you never make?
HBAlbany
The Avis lot just isn’t going to be the same.
