Cars

Talk me off the ledge or would you do this

So My wife and I are on the fence. I ordered a new car but can back out at anytime. I got offered this car and it has a branded title. I have never heard of that and came to find out it means the car was totaled. After researching the car. I got the information and there was no frame damage, no engine damage but had to have the front and sides panels replaced. It was fixed by a certified Acura dealer body shop. It is an Acura TLX Type S and honestly looks amazing. It is being offered with a 5 year 100k warranty. Would you buy something this or would you run away. I was given all the photos of the accident and the thing only has 1900 miles. Honestly I am scared but one of my friends said he bought a car like this and had zero issues. What would you do?

Unless you are getting it for 50-60% the cost of the exact same car with a normal title I would not consider it. Too many small problems can develop, and the residual value of your car on the secondary market is non existent, not to mention the headache of getting it insured.

    All that info…..and no price.

It isn’t worth MSRP, that is for sure.

I’d need more details about your specific situation to make a suggestion.

    * How much is this car vs. the one you ordered new?
    * How much longer is the wait for the ordered vehicle to arrive?
    * What is the use case for this vehicle?
    * Have you gotten an insurance quote for this vehicle?
    * What’s the estimated insurance premium difference between this vehicle and the ordered vehicle?
