I know this car! Back in the 2000s this car was regularly shown at the Tiburon Classic Car Show in Tiburon, CA. The owner was this grumpy guy who would set up early and push his way to the front of the show so his car got the front spot and put all sorts of signs/posters/magazine clippings/etc/trophies all over the car. Very tacky. IIRC it looked tired back then. Paint tired, interior tired, I believe the rear window was plexiglass and it had aged, and other custom touches were showing their age like the roof job. I also remember the engine running poorly as it left a lot of fumes. Overall I hated the owner, hated how poorly he kept the car, and hated how much he tried to push its specialness at the show, and thus I hated the car itself which is pretty stupid of me…it’s not the cars fault it had a bad owner…or should I now say series of bad owners.
Best I can tell he tried to sell that thing for years and eventually succeeded but maybe 5 years ago it popped up for sale again online. Assuming this is where it ended up.
Really weird for me to see this car again and I feel sorry for it. It’s an interesting concept and a car that’s been neglected for a long time. Hopefully it’s given a second chance but be forewarned it’ll likely need a very thorough restoration.
