    >Tesla obviously doesn’t care too much if there are some issues with this, as the other automakers all paid a handsome sum (billions in all) for access.

Is this true? I didn’t know those details had been made public.

Step One: Wait several months for Tesla to hire and train somebody to finish opening up the network to other brands.

At a busy Supercharger it’ll be far more painful for CCS until there’s enough saturation of CCS where there’s more than a handful of cars.

Teslas will always be able to use 1 stall. CCS basically has to use 2. At busy stations, 2 won’t always open up at the same time so you’ll have to rely on the one sideways stall or the end cap. But I’ve noticed in my limited time of using Superchargers that there’s not always that end stall.

When there’s more CCS, those can sit side by side and collectively take up 1 extra stall in total but until that time CCS is gonna have to fight for that end/sideways stall.

As long as you’re not literally parking across multiple stalls, it’s not the end of the world.

If I drove a Tesla and saw a Mach E parked in one stall but using the cable from the “wrong” stall, and that “blocked” stall was the only one available, I would just park in there and wait for the Mach E owner to hand over the cable when they’re done.

This article is over a month old. NEWSFLASH: Tesla has laid off its entire supercharger team. Good luck to us all.

Being a Hyundai driver, with the chargers port on the rear right hand side, I’m very well aware of the issue.

Luckily there’s only one Tesla station that I occasionally use and so far it’s never been an issue. Every time I’ve stopped there there’s only ever been one other car charging, so I just head to the opposite end of the 6 stations.

The annoying thing is that if they positioned the chargers in the middle of the space, the cable would probably reach.
