Personally? Hell no. Whitewall tires are awful. I bought several cars that didn’t get home before I stopped at a tire shop to have them turned in. If I had a car that had them turned in I always jacked it up and spray painted them black.
They are gross and are on par with half or padded vinyl tops and continental kits.
That car looks fine as is.

Pin stripes maybe. I’ve seen some with two thin stripes and it could work.

Yes, as other have suggested go with the one inch white band – and you dont necessarily have to get new tyres either, there are places that will put a white wall or white band on existing tyres, I had Michelins on my Cadillac done, only cost me about NZ $350 to put one inch bands of white on mine

Had a 79 for a few years (damn I regret selling it), and my vote is yes, 1” whitewalls. Currently have a 69 and it has them. Beautiful ride btw!! 😀
