So with some quick searching it seems that the laser is just a renamed escort for the 1990 year (Wikipedia). You will probably find more info if you search ford escort. So your two options are 1) find a wiring diagram for the radio of a 90 escort/laser and it will tell you what color wire does what (power, ground, remote, front speaker, rear speaker, etc) and then you can match to the wire from your radios harness that have the same function.

The second option is fixing what the previous owner fucked up as you never should cut off the factory radio harness unless nobody makes a wiring harness for your car (and even then there’s other ways to go about it that are better then that). You can buy a harness that will give you the factory plug back (http://www.metraonline.com/vfgapi/vehicle/18334? The harness that goes into the factory radio is what you would need here), and that will give you back the factory plug, then the vehicle specific wiring harness for installing a radio (radio harness into car on that page) will wire into the harness from the radio you want to install, and wiring those together is just matching colors the vast majority of time.
