    Every study disproves this.

For example: Hybrid-powered cars were involved in about 3,475 fires per every 100,000 sold. Gasoline-powered cars, about 1,530. Electric vehicles (EVs) saw just 25 fires per 100,000 sold.

And then there is carbon monoxide poisoning.

Sounds like something I’d see in my town in Idaho. Not across the pond. I guess Idiocracy has no borders

    Good thing gas isn’t flammable

This was one of their “smaller” car parks, they have several, including one with EV chargers. This is a nothingburger.

What i find stupid is that the sprinklers would do bugger all to stop a battery in thermal meltdown.

  5. Couldn’t see the brand of EV, but there is some data on Tesla fires in particular that have been reported.

In short, 232 have caught fire out of 6 million sold.

232 of 6,000,000 = ~0.004%. Not 0% unfortunately, but less than what is being portrayed in the media.

  6. Forget the EV BS…

    > …he did not want his seven-year-old son to miss an appointment he had waited nearly five years for.

The kid had been waiting for this appointment since he was two? Surly that has to be an exaggeration.

  7. Probably a guy in his office who took the decision without researching or because of his own bias.

Always enjoy when some entry level person has a wildly crazy opinion and impacts people
