It’s current day. You’re poor trailer trash and in need of a new vehicle after yout drunken stepson stole and totaled your previous one. These are your options.

Mirage seems to be the best deal (will run and run), or the Ion (save the manuals!). I’d choose the Accord barring the smell. I’m quite sensitive to bad smells lol
I’ll go team Mirage here – spend the $500 left over on tyres and maintenance
Anteater_Reasonable
Nothing says trailer court quite like a 20-year-old base model Dodge Caravan.
REDDITSHITLORD
I HATE THAT THE MINIVAN IN THE HYPOTHETICAL IS THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL, BUT LOOKS NICER THAN MINE, HAS HALF THE MILES AND COSTS HALF WHAT I PAID.
STILL STOW & GO SEATING IS LAMBO DOORS FOR THE INSIDE.
BcuzRacecar
1400 for a running 6th gen accord is easy
truck does truck things tho
Traditional_Yard5280
Lumina. Solid, just looks rough.
t_stlouis8
2002 Honda Accord because SUNROOF!!!!
reefer_drabness
Growing up and coming of age as poor white trailer trash in Kansas I believe I know the answer. I’ve had three shitty explorers. Had to do head gaskets on all three.
Half tossing around the idea of actually getting another shitty explorer as a matter of fact, just to fuck with it.
YouArentReallyThere
“Yout” Mr. Gambini? Did you say…”Yout”?
infinitecosmic_power
Only one oh five on the explorer? Imma go head and fill it with stop leak, take it a county over and flip it for 3k. Or, in this case, 2200 and some shine, a Walmart gift card and a 96 pack of Huggies. Power steering is for liberal commies anyway
HighFiveKoala
I’d take the Ford F150
vistaflip
A 2002 Rio was one of my childhood cars. So, I’m here to say, that the Rio in the image is actually a 2001-2002 Rio 5, not an 04. 04 was post face-lift.
HAKX5
Ion. It’s got a stick and I trust Saturns.
LinoleumRelativity
Mirage for the win. Those Accords have trans issues, if the Explorer has 4.0 the timing guides are about to shatter… The Lumina may have a descendent of the mid-80’s GM Metric trans (not so good in my experience). A leaking Bronco II will be Found on Road Dead… So, the Ion, Caravan and the F150 are solidly 2nd place.
Kronstadtpilled
Accord
justsomeyeti
I’m taking the accord, pretty easy to wrench on and I can strip the interior and redo it on the cheap, and put some bumps in it while in there
diegoaccord
In the midwest, heroin head trash love all these cars, minus the mirage because I havent actually seen a running one in 15 years.

pOV: you live in some sketchy trailer park in detrpit
water_bottle1776
Finally, one of these that speaks to my expertise. Who gives a fuck what the cops think? That Caravan is probably the one to get. You can carry yourself and any passengers in relative comfort, as well as take out the back seats and have as much charge space as a pickup. You can probably get another 100k miles out of the motor, at least. But, watch out for the power steering. And rust.
Born_Application2831
Ummmmmmm excuse me…… I don’t live in a trailer park and I drive a 2000 Accord lol
Complex_Kangaroo1152
That f150 so that I when I ride around in the nice neighborhoods on trash day for scrap I got a place to unsafely stow it until the leaf springs damn near blow out
PhinFerbFan9779
1997 Lumina would work well. Those things are SAFE
ROCKCOCK53
Id go bronco 2 or early lumina but parts availability is a big problem and if I wanted something cheap so I’d say Saturn ion
jparadis87
Car law states that the Lumina will keep running like shit after all the other cars have died and gone to the junkyard.
Glittering_Bar_9497
Ford exploder FTW
BSixe
It’s wild identifying with “trailer trash”. Big changes start with the mindset. You are not trailor trash, you’re just surviving and found an efficient living situation
Edit. If I had these exact options i’d go with either the accord or the caravan
Poutinemilkshake2
Needs more GM options.
Where’s the Malibu?
How about an S10?
And the holy grail… The TRAILBLAZER
Own-Employment-1640
I already own two of these….
Box_Dread
Honda or dodge minivan ez. Whichever one has less miles. They’re both reliable. Honda has more likely hood of being thrashed by past owners
smoores02
These are not my only options and stop following me.

Lumina. The Honda Accord as interpreted by Chevrolet.
