  1. I don’t think it’ll ever occupy the same niche the foxbody does, but I see them being more appreciated after their discontinuation than they were in their prime, kind of like the foxbody.

No they’re not, some people baby and cherish their Mustangs. Nobody babies a Hyundai.

I don’t think I’ve seen a 1st gen genesis in years. They were popular back when they came out in 2010 or so I think but I haven’t seen one on the road in quite a while. I know Hyundai targeted the then popular 350z and 4.6 Mustang GT with the Genesis coupe, aka Affordable performance cars with roughly 300HP.

IIRC right after the Hyundai Genesis debuted the 2011+ Ford Mustang with the 300 HP V-6 came out. The base mustang was cheaper and outperformed it, kind of negating any reason to buy the Hyundai in the first place.

The performance model of the Genesis was more priced in line with the Mustang GT Performance Pack, which in the 2011 update became incredibly potent performance wise.

I would think the G-35/37 and later Q models are the modern Fox Bodies in terms of inexpensive performance and fun.

I haven’t looked up the production by the years but I imagine it was good year or two before sales fell off a cliff.

I mean maybe it’s just the way they say it is kind of unusual…

I’ve always thought of it as a Great Value Nissan Z car

biggest issue is low production means they not like easily avail in the used market and small aftermarket scene. Im not sure if there is a true replacment cuz it would have to be easily avail, lots of parts, cheaper than a g35, not too expensive to work on, and have good power

  7. I haven’t seen a Hyundai Genesis Coupe in a long time. I used to see them every where 2013 to 2018

Kinda. It occupies that same “cheap, easily accessible and attainable “ niche that the Fox Body did in the late 90’s. Tons of aftermarket support and a decent front engine, rear drive chassis. You’ll probably see quite a few tearing it up after their 3rd or 4th owners.

I mean… No, but I get the argument in favor.
