I had a friend in college who bought one and said he was going to stash it away until all the others rusted away to dust. I sometimes wonder what happened to him and that car.

Always wanted to try one of them. The Vega was actually a very good handling platform. I had one for a brief time and I remember the engine was garbage, the rust was everywhere, and the handling was fantastic. I had a ball with that thing for two weeks, before I had to donate it to the junkyard.

Back in the day the thing was to put a small block Chevy V8 in them.
I never drove one but I rode in one. It was quite the experience.
