A bicyclist was critically injured after being found unconscious in the roadway in Fresno just after midnight.
Officers responded to Palm Avenue between Olive and Belmont shortly after midnight following a report of a bicyclist down, Fresno Police L.t Justin Hoagland said.
When officers arrived, they found a man unconscious in the northbound lanes of Palm Avenue suffering from serious injuries.
Emergency medical personnel treated the bicyclist at the scene before taking him to Community Regional Medical Center. He remains in critical condition.
Hoagland said there were no witnesses to the incident. Officers are investigating how the bicyclist sustained his injuries and what led to the incident.
