PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The parent of a Camas 15-year-old has been cited for a crash their teen caused while riding an electric motorcycle.
Police and emergency responders were dispatched to the 3500 block of Northeast Franklin Loop on May 26, just after 3:30 p.m., where the driver had collided head-on with a car.

After an investigation, they learned the electric motorcycle operator entered the roadway driving the wrong direction against traffic when they collided with the car. The teen was thrown and hit the vehicle’s windshield. The helmet he was wearing was cracked from the impact.
Detectives determined the teen’s vehicle exceeded the 750-watt maximum power output limit to be classified as an e-bike and was missing the chain, which made the pedals inoperable. The parent was cited for allowing an unauthorized minor to drive.
