NEENAH, Wis. (WBAY) — Neenah city leaders want stricter rules for e-bikes and e-scooters to keep riders safe and keep rules similar with surrounding cities.

The new rules would make zones where riders would have to get off and walk their bikes and scooters. Those areas would include large parts of downtown Neenah and anywhere else with specific signs.

The proposal also includes mandatory helmets for kids 16 or younger who ride a bike, e-bike or e-scooter.

The public safety committee will decide whether to send the draft to Neenah’s common council at its meeting Tuesday at 5 p.m.
