Audi has made significant overhauls to its best-selling electric car, the Audi Q4 e-tron, bringing updated looks on the inside and outside, new on-board technology, and improvements to charging and battery performance.
On the outside, not too much has changed from the outgoing Q4 e-tron, though there are new front and rear lights to give a more up-to-date look, along with front air flow intakes and a redesigned rear spoiler, helping to improve aerodynamic efficiency. There are also under-the-skin tweaks to the electric motor and transmission to boost efficiency further over the previous model.

On the updated model, buyers can choose between two different battery capacities of 63 kWh and 82 kWh. Thanks to the efficiency tweaks on the updated Q4, the latter can achieve up to 367 miles of range on a single charge, a significant improvement over the previous Q4. Charging speed has also been boosted, with the 82 kWh pack now able to charge at a maximum rate of 185 kW.
Perhaps one of the most important upgrades to the refreshed Q4 e-tron, however, is the addition of bidirectional charging support – with this new model becoming the first Audi EV to support the technology. This opens the Q4 e-tron up to functions such as vehicle-to-load (V2L), allowing it to power external appliances off the grid, but also vehicle-to-home (V2H) – allowing the vehicle to send its stored power back into the home in times of high demand. Audi says the V2H support is already available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on this updated model.
Marco Schubert, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Audi, commented:
“With this product upgrade, the Audi Q4 e-tron is not only more modern and striking in appearance but also impresses with an improved interior. New features and numerous improvements to the vehicle make the electric entry point into the Audi brand even more attractive – for families and our fleet customers.”
