KUALA LUMPUR (April 15): Ni Hsin Group Bhd (KL:NIHSIN), a cookware maker, is exploring the assembly of the SURRON brand electric dirt bikes in Malaysia.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was inked between its unit, Ni Hsin EV Tech Sdn Bhd, and Chongqing Qiulong Technology Co Ltd over the potential partnership on an exclusive basis, according to a bourse filing on Wednesday.

China-based Qiulong is the manufacturer and brand owner of the SURRON brand electric off-road motorcycles. Parties are to negotiate a definitive agreement over the MOU’s six-month period.

“The rationale of the MOU is to enable Ni Hsin EV Tech to expand its operations and range of products particularly in off-road EV motorcycles,” Ni Hsin noted.

Over recent years, Ni Hsin has entered into various MOUs in relation to two-wheel electric vehicles.

In its latest six months ended Dec 31, 2025 (6MFY2026), its EV segment’s revenue stood at RM738,000, or just 1.88% of its RM39.24 million overall topline. Net loss stood at RM2.96 million.

At the time of writing, shares in Ni Hsin were unchanged at eight sen, valuing the company at RM50.02 million.
