Chery-owned Chinese brand Lepas has confirmed that it’s introducing a second model to the UK later this year in the form of the L6 SUV.
Debuting later this month at Milan Design Week (20-26 April 2026), the L6 midsize SUV will arrive in the UK in Q4 2026 alongside the larger, L8 flagship, anchoring the brand’s plans for its European offensive.
The move marks a significant milestone for Lepas, whose name is a portmanteau of ‘Leopard’, ‘Leap’ and ‘Passion’.
It’s positioned as a higher-tier, more stylish alternative to the existing Omoda, Jaecoo and Chery brands in parent firm Chery International’s growing empire.
By choosing Milan’s prestigious design festival for the reveal, Lepas is aiming to position itself as a premium, style-led competitor in the crowded European EV and hybrid markets.
The L6 is based on the same New Energy Vehicle (NEV) architecture as the Jaecoo 7 and Omoda 5, and will be available with plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
The Lepas Super Hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre engine with an electric motor and battery pack to deliver over 700 miles of total range.
The fully electric L6 BEV offers 270 miles of range (WLTC cycle) from a 67kWh battery. Both models feature rapid-charging capability, with the BEV able to recharge from 30-80% in approximately 20 minutes.
Full details are yet to be revealed but Lepas says the L6 combines “premium proportions with an intelligent, connected cabin, advanced driver assistance and engineering to global five-star safety standards”.
Leaning heavily into the brand’s ‘Drive Your Elegance’ design-orientated ethos, the L6 features a ‘running leopard’ silhouette, sculpted exterior lines and LED headlights designed to mimic a predator’s gaze.
Ray Wang, Lepas UK managing director, believes the vehicle’s blend of high-end tech and sophisticated styling will resonate with British drivers.
