First Quarter 2026 Sales Performance Overview

April 13 (Reuters) – German truck manufacturer Traton on Monday reported a 6% decline in vehicle sales for the first quarter of 2026.

Segment Performance and Market Challenges

The decline was driven by a 21% fall in the International Motors segment, with Traton pointing to persistent weakness in the American market.

Regional Market Impact

A difficult market situation in South America also led to delivery declines at the subsidiaries Scania and Volkswagen Truck & Bus, Traton said.

Vehicle Deliveries and Growth Areas

The company delivered 68,600 vehicles in the January-March period, down from 73,100 units in the same period a year earlier.

Electric Vehicle Sales

It saw a 38% increase in electric vehicles deliveries. The subsidiary MAN Truck & Bus also saw a 14% increase, which the company attributed to recovery in Europe.
