Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycleHas a 3.91kWh batteryFirst showroom opens in Bengaluru on April 10
The Royal Enfield Flying Flea will be launched in India on April 10. This will be the company’s first electric motorcycle, and it packs a lot of features and tech.
Powering the Flying Flea is a 15.4kW PMSM electric motor that can propel the bike from 0-60kmph in 3.7s and on to a top speed of 115kmph. It gets a 3.91kWh battery that offers a claimed IDC range of 154km. Royal Enfield has incorporated an onboard charger that can charge the bike from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 65 minutes. That’s a rate of about one per cent per minute.

The Flying Flea is loaded with a plethora of features. The list includes all-LED lights, navigation by Google, wireless phone charging, cornering ABS, traction control, and ride modes including Sport and Individual. The latter allows the rider to tailor the level of traction control and ABS intervention as well as the throttle maps.
Lastly, the design of the bike is unique. Its compact form factor, exposed frame, and attention to detail like the girder-type front suspension, floating seat, and removable pillion seat are some of the highlights.
Expect the Flying Flea to be positioned as a premium urban runabout, and it will be priced at the expensive side of the scale.
