Two boys have been seriously injured after a collision between an e-bike and a car in York.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Danebury Drive, at the junction with Ostman Road, at about 09:40 BST on Saturday.

North Yorkshire Police said a green Calibre pedal cycle, which had been adapted to be electrically-assisted, was in collision with a white Fiat 500 car.

The boys, both 15 and from the York area, were taken to hospital where they remain in a stable condition. The 18-year-old female driver of the car was uninjured, the force said.

A spokesperson said it was believed the e-bike had travelled along Ostman Road to the junction of Danebury Drive and that the Fiat had travelled from Woodlea Avenue on to Danebury Drive.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact police.
