Subaru of America, Inc., today unveiled its all-new, all-electric 2027 Subaru Getaway at the 2026 New York International Auto Show. The most powerful production Subaru, the all-new Getaway is perfect for a rapid getaway with room for the whole family on a blast through Yellowstone. The 420-horsepower 2027 Subaru Getaway is the fourth electric vehicle in Subaru’s growing EV portfolio. The Subaru Getaway offers seating for up to seven, powerful standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, an available range of more than 300 miles, and 420 horsepower from electric motors on the front and rear axles. The 2027 Subaru Getaway will arrive at retailers nationwide beginning in late 2026.

The name Getaway was developed to highlight the SUV’s family-friendly versatility and utility with 8.3 inches of ground clearance, generous interior cargo capacity, and convenience features that make it ready for nearly any excursion. All that, and 420 horsepower from dual electric motors and exceptional driving dynamics.

Real-World Convenience

The 2027 Subaru Getaway offers seating for up to seven with a second-row bench seat, or up to six with standard captain’s chairs in the second row, depending on trim level. With exceptional headroom and legroom, six-footers can comfortably sit in all three rows. Every Getaway is equipped with one-touch, second-row folding seats for easy access to the third row and a power-folding third row for more cargo capacity when needed.  With the third row folded, the Getaway offers 45.6 cubic feet of cargo space, more than the Kia EV9. With the third row upright, the Getaway offers an impressive 15.9 cubic feet of cargo space.

The 2027 Subaru Getaway features powerful front and rear electric motors that deliver 420 horsepower combined, propelling it from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. Standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive combined with 8.3 inches of ground clearance and X-MODE® Dual-Mode System with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud Modes, Grip Control, and Downhill Assist Control offer exceptional capability off-road. The Subaru Getaway is also rated to tow up to 3,500 pounds.

When it arrives in late 2026, the 2027 Subaru Getaway will be powered by a high-capacity, long-range 95.8-kWh lithium-ion battery rated for an available range of more than 300 miles on a single charge. A standard NACS charging port offers convenient charging at more than 25,000 Superchargers across North America, with charging speeds up to 150 kW that can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% as quickly as approximately 30 minutes. A standard on-board battery preconditioning system ensures charging performance doesn’t lag in cold-weather conditions, even at 14 degrees Fahrenheit.

In 2027, the Subaru Getaway will offer a standard-range model with a 77.0-kWh lithium-ion battery and Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Details on that trim level will be available closer to market launch.

Inside, the Subaru Getaway offers family-friendly features including cup and bottle holders for every seat, three-zone climate control, dedicated third-row vents, customizable ambient lighting, USB-C charging ports in every row, an available panoramic moonroof, and more.

Expressive Design

The 2027 Subaru Getaway creates a unique and inviting space for the driver and passengers by adapting Subaru’s next-generation EV styling elements onto a family-friendly vehicle. The Getaway features Subaru’s unique lighting signature up front, including a six-star illuminated logo on all trim levels, dynamic daytime running lights, and front headlamps with dedicated washers. In addition to illuminating the road ahead, daytime running lights also conveniently indicate charging status when connected to a charger.

Robust ladder-type roof rails are standard on most trim levels of the Subaru Getaway, offering more cargo storage options for long adventures. Along the body sides, clean bodylines and flush door handles offer a contemporary look with added aerodynamic efficiency. Expressive 19- and 20-inch wheels are standard on the Getaway, depending on trim level. Around the back, a three-dimensional illuminated SUBARU logo rear gate garnish and distinctive lighting signature offer an enhanced nighttime presence.

Inside, the Getaway offers a standard 14-inch Subaru Multimedia touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The generous interior passenger space is punctuated by a large, fixed panoramic sunroof on specific trim levels and multiple interior storage areas for tablets, phones, and personal items. Heated front seats are standard on the Subaru Getaway, and heated second- and third-row rear seats, ventilated front and second-row seats, and a 360-degree heated steering wheel are equipped on certain trim levels.

Sophisticated Technology

The standard 14-inch Subaru Multimedia touchscreen offers wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity for entertainment on the go. Two wireless 15W smartphone chargers are available for the driver and front-seat passenger, in addition to four USB-C charging ports for rear-seat passengers. Customizable interior ambient lighting can create a unique cabin environment and can be changed based on the selected drive mode. Five drive modes are available, including a customizable individual drive setting.

Every Getaway is equipped with a suite of EyeSight® driver-assistance technologies, including Pre-Collision Braking, Blind Spot Monitors, Lane Departure Alert, Emergency Stop Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more. Certain trim levels also include Front Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Park Assist, digital rearview mirror, and more.

Pricing and detailed specifications will be available closer to market launch in late 2026. For more information, visit Subaru’s media site.
