Geely is set to make its debut in Germany with two SUVs and plans to open several showrooms across the country. The Chinese manufacturer has announced its first location in Aachen, where Geely vehicles will be presented and sold.

Ahead of its official market launch, the company also revealed the base prices for its two models, which will form Geely’s initial portfolio in Germany from May: the battery-electric Geely E5 will be available from €37,990, while the plug-in hybrid Starray EM-i will start at €32,990.

The Geely E5 (known as the EX5 in some markets) is a battery-electric SUV positioned between the compact and mid-size segments, with a length of 4.62 metres. It is built on Geely’s Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA) and, like the Starray EM-i, has been available in several European countries—including multiple Balkan states, Greece, and the UK—since last summer.

By the end of 2025, the vehicle also entered the market in Italy, and in mid-March 2026, it launched in Hungary. Alongside its expansion into Germany, Geely will simultaneously introduce the same model duo in Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The company describes the opening ceremonies in Aachen and other locations this week as a successful brand launch across five countries within 48 hours.

The E5 was first introduced in Geely’s home market of China in May 2024 but received a comprehensive update just over a year later. In its current form, which is now being introduced to Germany and the other markets mentioned, the Geely E5 offers a range of up to 475 kilometres.

It features a 160 kW electric motor with 320 Newton metres of torque, driving the front wheels. The electric SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 175 km/h. Customers can choose between two lithium iron phosphate battery options, with capacities of 60.2 kWh or 68.4 kWh. The range figure applies to the E5 variant with the larger battery. Additional features include five seats and a luggage capacity of 461 to 1,877 litres.

The second debut model, the Geely Starray EM-i, is a 4.74-metre plug-in hybrid SUV. Thanks to its 30 kWh battery, it can travel up to 136 kilometres on electric power alone and offers a total range of over 1,000 kilometres under the WLTP standard. The powertrain consists of a 160 kW electric motor and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 73 kW.

With both model ranges, Geely aims to establish itself in the high-volume compact segment (C-segment), citing a compelling price-performance ratio, saying standard equipment of the Starray EM-i already exceeds the class average in its base version.

The E5 is also described as ‘practically fully equipped’ in its basic configuration. Additionally, Geely offers a comprehensive warranty package to build trust as a new brand in Germany. The manufacturer provides an eight-year or 200,000-kilometre warranty for all vehicles, covering the entire car, including the drive battery.

To support its expansion into Europe, Geely has recently established a regional spare parts centre in Amsterdam, creating what it describes as a ‘European Central Warehouse + National Satellite Warehouses logistics network.’ This system is designed to ensure comprehensive service coverage for the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, and soon France.

The carmaker has also introduced a 24/7 breakdown assistance service in each market.
