Following pilot programs in Seattle and Atlanta, Lime has announced an expansion of its LimeGliders in Dallas, Texas. According to Dallas Morning News, Lime will deploy 150 of what TIME named as one of the best 300 inventions of 2025.
Do you like the idea of zipping around Dallas but find that e-bikes are too much work? Or that, riding an e-scooter makes you like too much of a nerd? Well, Lime has a new option for you: the LimeGlider.
Described as somewhere between an e-bike and electric scooter, LimeGliders are essentially a sit-down scooter. The vehicle is also equipped with a basket. Speed-wise, LimeGliders top out at 15 mph.
“We remain committed to providing convenient mobility solutions that fit the unique needs of the community, all while maintaining our focus on rider safety and tidy streets”, said Lime senior regional lead of government relations, Lilli Kraus.

“By providing a new options for folks to choose instead of their cars, the glider will play a vital role in keeping Dallas moving seamlessly every day”.
Presently, Lime has over 1,500 scooters and 100 e-bikes in Dallas. While companies like Bird and Spin also have such vehicles in Dallas, neither of which offer a sit-down scooter.
The initial launch will bring 150 LimeGliders to the city. Operating a LimeGlider is accessible through the Lime or Uber app and costs just $1 to unlock, and 45 cents per minute of use. Per city regulations, use of LimeGliders and other dockless vehicles are restricted to the hours between 5 am and 8:45 pm.
“We’re so excited to take our next step with these vehicles and bring them to more cities this spring”, said Lime’s president, Joe Kraus. “The LimeGlider makes strides in offering a convenient and inclusive experience to a wider number of riders, while sacrificing nothing in the joy all Lime vehicles inspire”.
