NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – An e-bike rider was killed, and another was injured in a high-speed crash involving a driver who was under the influence, police said.

The crash happened Thursday at 8:05 p.m. on West 125th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, police said. Kevin Crosby, a 49-year-old from the Bronx, was speeding in the bus lane when he crashed into the two cyclists from behind, police said.

Crosby then allegedly crashed into an unoccupied police car, sending the police car crashing into another parked car with two occupants, according to the NYPD. Crosby allegedly kept driving, crashing into an unoccupied trailer and a third car driven by a 40-year-old.

Both e-bike riders were taken to the hospital, where 28-year-old Darly Zacarias was pronounced dead. The second cyclist, a 33-year-old man, was in critical condition.

Crosby has been charged with manslaughter and operating a vehicle under the influence. Prosecutors say Crosby admitted to smoking marijuana and PCP before driving, according to the criminal complaint.
