E-motos are illegal on Boulder streets
There is an abundance of e-motos that have foot rests but no pedals on the streets of Boulder. The minors who have these love to do Wheelies on my street, ride with no hands on the handlebars while standing up, and all of this is illegal. e-bikes have pedals; e-motos do not and are illegal on the streets, sidewalks and trails in Boulder. This has been confirmed by Boulder Police. The only e-motos that might be legal are registered, have license plates and a brake light … and are driven by a licensed driver, never by minors.
If you are a parent and are allowing your child to drive an e-moto on the street, you are liable and could be required to appear in court. These e-motos are only permitted on private land such as dirt tracks. I have dozens of videos recording many of these e-motos doing wheelies and riding with no hands, and have submitted them to Boulder Police. Just ask for them to see them. You have my permission.

Ending Trump’s tyranny will take significant effort
The ideal of American democracy has never been closer to defeat. The Trump regime digs its heels in even more every day by disregarding Constitutional separation of powers (both legislative and judicial) and spreading its tentacles across the Western hemisphere like a handsy beauty pageant owner. If these fascists are going to be rooted out of our country, it’s going to take a lot more effort from everyone than just a quarterly Saturday parade and random social media memes. Centralized messaging and goals like the impeachment and removal of the President and Vice President, war crime trials for the administration’s warmongers, and the abolishment of federal police kidnapping rings and their regional concentration camps need concerted, consistent effort from more of us than ever before. A general strike led by workforces with significant leverage would be a good start. Teachers, port workers, service employees, laborers, package deliverers and others could certainly grind the country to enough of a halt if their union leaders could coordinate well enough (and are willing). And if mass protests are going to do any good, they’ll have to be during the work week and start costing the upper class in real terms.
If momentum can build among us over these next few months, then a summer of very visual protests during the country’s 250th anniversary and the World Cup would put the ruling class on notice that if there isn’t quick and significant change, then a repeat of history from 18th-century France may be the natural result of a population that has reached the end of its patience.
The challenge for all of us is to let go of creature comforts, spend less, read more and build community. Otherwise, we are doomed to live in a Trumpified American nightmare.
