A three-year-old girl is being treated for serious injuries after being struck by an e-bike in Lancashire.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after the crash on Ormerod Road in Burnley, near the Pavilion, at about 13:30 GMT on Friday.
Lancashire Police said the girl was in a serious condition but her injuries were “not thought to be life-threatening”.
The force said the bike reported to have been involved, a “non-road legal” orange, black and white e-bike with no registration, had not yet been found.
Detectives urged anyone with information to contact them.
A force spokesman said: “We are also aware that this may cause some concern and discussion in the local community.
“Whilst we do understand that this may be concerning, we ask that you please allow our officers to conduct their enquiries and refrain from any speculation on social media or otherwise.”
