Imagine a world where DMC, the ones who brought you the Delorean, got acquired by GMC (Jeep).

The year is 2028 and GMC dusts off their old DMC brand to bring forth a merger concept that fill the void between commuter crossover suv and capable off-road weekend toy. They launch the DMC Atari, the simple and capable 90s style Cherokee body built with the rugged cold-rolled steel of the Delorean, and outfitted with 3.6L Pentastar v6 (similar to what you would see in the doge challenger). 4WD, 5000lb tow hitch, no extra bells and whistles, just a simple touchscreen that only had Apple play/androidplay, and seats 5. Tailgate style rear end.

I’d imagine it would get 16-20mpg in the city and 22-28mpg hwy

$50k sticker price

What’s your take?

Personally I like the idea of a 95-2015 Land Rover defender with a simple v6 or v8. But for mass market appeal I figure a 5-seat option would be better for the US market and what better than the iconic Jeep Cherokee body of the 90s. A relaunch with a rivian-esk appeal could be a successful product imho.
