The 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is now on sale in Australia. It gets a longer electric range, new features, and a refreshed look. Prices have risen by up to $3000 compared to the outgoing model.
The range starts at $58,990 plus on-road costs for the ES, up $1700. The top-spec Exceed Tourer is $74,490 plus on-roads, up $2700.
How Does It Compare on Price?
The entry ES sits close in price to the top-spec BYD Sealion 6 at $56,990, which is Australia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV. The Outlander PHEV still undercuts the Mazda CX-60 P50e (from $63,790) and the Skoda Kodiaq PHEV (from $63,490).

In recent months, Mitsubishi Australia offered significant discounts on the outgoing model, including drive-away deals and cash bonuses of up to $10,000, to clear old stock.
Bigger Battery, More Range
The new 22.7kWh battery is up from 20kWh. Mitsubishi claims an electric-only range of 86km under WLTP testing, or 103km under the more lenient NEDC standard. The previous model managed 84km NEDC.
Combined power from the 2.4-litre petrol engine and dual electric motors rises from 185kW to 221kW. Claimed fuel consumption drops from 1.5L/100km to 1.2L/100km in NEDC testing.

There are four hybrid modes: Normal (petrol and electric mix), Save (maintain battery charge), Charge (use the engine to charge the battery), and EV (electric priority). Six levels of regenerative braking are controlled via steering wheel paddles.
Styling Updates
The 2026 Outlander PHEV shares design changes with the petrol-only Outlander. Updates include a new front grille insert, revised lower bumper, smoked tail-light lenses, LED rear indicators and reverse lights, and new 18- and 20-inch wheel designs depending on variant.
Interior Changes
The centre console has been reworked across all Outlander variants. Cupholders have been repositioned, under-armrest storage is 45% larger, and the wireless phone charger has a new design. Rear seatbacks are longer with updated padding for better comfort.
Other changes include revised safety system tuning, a new steel bonnet and front wheel arches to reduce cabin noise, and reworked suspension, steering, and tyres tuned in Australia.
New Features Across the Range
All variants now get a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto, a driver monitoring camera, and Mitsubishi Connected Services. The ES adds an eight-speaker Yamaha Premium sound system and a 360-degree camera.
The Aspire gains a heated steering wheel, lane centring, traffic-jam assist, and moves to a seven-seat layout. The Exceed and Exceed Tourer revert to five seats but add ventilated front seats, a digital rear-view mirror, and aluminium pedal covers. The flagship Exceed Tourer gets brown semi-aniline leather and a 12-speaker Yamaha Ultimate stereo.
