DENZA has brought the B5 to Singapore, marking its move into the premium electrified off-road SUV segment. It’s essentially a plug-in hybrid SUV that mixes proper off-road hardware with a more high-end, tech-focused experience. The debut also included a collaboration with METT Singapore, tying the car into a broader luxury lifestyle angle.

The B5 goes for a rugged, boxy design – wide stance, chunky arches, bold front end, plus classic off-road touches like a rear spare wheel and side-opening boot. It sits on a body-on-frame chassis with double-wishbone suspension, so it’s built to handle rough terrain without sacrificing comfort.

Under the hood is BYD’s DMO plug-in hybrid system: a 1.5-litre turbo engine paired with dual electric motors. Combined output is over 400 kW and 760 Nm, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds. It gets a 31.8 kWh Blade Battery, good for up to 90 km of electric-only driving, and up to 1,000 km total range.

The B5 packs 16 terrain modes, along with AWD, front and rear diff locks, and a centre locking system. It’s capable of tackling serious conditions, including slopes up to 45 degrees.

The structure uses 96% high-strength steel, with a reinforced frame rated for up to 12 tonnes of roof load. It also features cell-to-chassis battery integration and a multi-layer battery protection setup. It carries a 5-star ANCAP rating.

Inside, it’s more lounge than workhorse – leather seats with ventilation, heating and massage, a 16-speaker Devialet sound system, plus a centre-console fridge that can heat or cool. There’s also 50W wireless charging and plenty of tech throughout.

Buyers get six exterior colours and three interior themes, with a focus on premium materials and personalisation.
