Every year brings a new wave of car models, but not all of them live up to the expectations of buyers. There are always those odd ones out that leave buyers with regret as they vow never to make the same mistake again.

The top five cars that made owners regret their purchase have been listed below. According to Consumer Reports, four of the top five least satisfying vehicles are hybrids and EVs. The list begins with the Jeep Grand Cherokee PHEV.

1. Jeep Grand Cherokee PHEV

The CR report states that only 25% of the owners would buy the Jeep Grand Cherokee PHEV again, meaning the other 75% are likely to be dissatisfied.

Despite it being a plug-in hybrid vehicle that offers several advantages, many owners have reported reliability issues and electrical problems. The challenges faced by owners don’t justify the price range at which it is being sold ($60,490 to $74,670).

2. Mazda CX-90 PHEV

Only 34% of the Mazda CX-90 PHEV owners said they would buy the car again. While Mazdas are popular for reliability, this plug-in hybrid variant is problematic, which reportedly disappointed 66% of buyers.

The car lets drivers know when it switches power mode, courtesy of the unrefined transitions from gas to electric power and vice versa. This has been a big letdown for customers.

3. Honda Prologue

While 37% of Honda Prologue owners admitted that they would buy it again, the other 63% seem displeased with the EV. Built by the Japanese automaker in collaboration with General Motors, the car has failed to impress buyers.

Common problems reported include a lag in the car’s infotainment system and charging speeds, an issue that other cars in the same segment don’t seem to have.

4. Audi Q4 e-tron

Another EV on the list, the CR report stated that 39% of owners would buy the Audi Q4 e-tron again, suggesting that the rest of the 61% would choose another vehicle.

Despite the car sporting four intersecting rings at the front, buyers have been disappointed with its stiff ride quality, slow charging speeds, and an unexciting interior. Priced from $50,600 to $59,000, customers say they don’t get the value they paid for.

5. Acura ADX

The Acura ADX is the only car on the top five list powered by an internal combustion engine. However, only 40% of the buyers said they would not mind having it again, while the other 60% are not too happy with their purchase. Many feel the entry-level SUV drives like a basic crossover. Priced from $35,000 to $44,400, it isn’t a cheap option either.
